The playoff stage of the Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL) Spring 2025 is approaching fast. Six teams will battle it out for the inaugural trophy of IKL Spring 2025, along with a chance to secure a spot in the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This thrilling competition is scheduled for May 30 to June 1, 2025.
Taman Anggrek Mall in West Jakarta will host the event, where history will be made as the champion of IKL Spring 2025 is determined. One of the teams that has successfully reached the playoff stage is Bigetron Esports. With coach Glen Richard “Om Kurus” Pangalila at the helm, Bigetron has proven to be a formidable contender.
While they may not have an impeccable record like their rival, Dominator, Bigetron's determination to clinch the IKL Spring 2025 title is incredibly strong. They have set their sights on participating in the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Previously, Bigetron competed in the Honor of Kings Invitational (KIS) Season 3. Although they did not emerge as champions, they showcased their latest skills and, with their newfound strength, they are shining brighter than ever. What drives Bigetron's ambition to win the IKL Spring 2025 championship? Read on for more insights.
Driven by New Sponsors, Bigetron's Target to Win IKL Spring 2025 is Getting Stronger!
Exclusively with Dunia Games, Bigetron coach Glen Richard “Om Kurus” Pangalila stated that he as a coach is quite satisfied with their performance during the IKL Spring 2025 Regular Season. Om Kurus thinks that his team will be unsafe if they continue to win.
“If asked if they are very satisfied? Not yet, not very satisfied. But, are they quite satisfied? In my opinion, I am quite satisfied because for me, in tournaments or matches, sometimes we need to feel like losing. Because in my opinion, it is not safe if we continue to win,” said Om Kurus to Dunia Games.
Om Kurus added that although he was quite satisfied, the goal of the Bigetron team was not only to dominate the Group Stage.
“From that defeat, we were able to correct many things that could be learned, especially since it was still the Group Stage count. We don’t take the Group Stage lightly, but our goal doesn’t stop there. There is a much bigger goal than that, we followed the process so we are quite satisfied,” added Om Kurus.
Furthermore, Om Kurus revealed that there was a difference when his team competed in IKL Spring 2025 compared to KIS Season 3 2025. According to Om Kurus, there was a challenge for his team because other teams had prepared themselves first, resulting in his team only having a little time to prepare.
However, he did not see that as a problem. Instead, it made him satisfied because the competitors also maximized their preparations in IKL Spring 2025 and made the results in this competition unpredictable.
"The difference is very far, because during KIS S3 yesterday compared to IKL our preparations were much different. When we (participated in) KIS S3 and qualified for the Philippines, other teams that did not qualify had prepared themselves, they had taken players, bought players and all kinds of things," explained Om Kurus.
"Meanwhile, Bigetron and Kagendra who qualified for the Philippines in KIS S3 had less time. It's not (an) excuse, but it's quite a (differentiating) factor. Because other teams have prepared, practiced first, dismantled and reassembled players while when we returned, we wanted to find this player who has been recruited here, (this player) has been recruited here, that's quite a (differentiating) factor that is clearly felt," he explained.
"But I'm satisfied, it means that all their teams have made an effort to be serious about looking for players, dismantling and reassembling everything so that the competition feels more that's why I said they are all developing and difficult to predict."
Regarding the new Bigetron by Vitality collaboration in Om Kurus' eyes, it is very interesting. Because, according to Om Kurus, this collaboration is proof that both teams, namely Bigetron and Vitality, have special attention to the Honor of Kings competitive scene. Om Kurus hopes that this collaboration will increase attention to his team.
Although it creates pressure, in fact this collaboration makes them more enthusiastic to step into the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 and become champions.
"In my personal opinion, because I have been in the esports industry for quite a long time, this is a collaboration between one team and another, especially the Indonesian team with an international brand, Vitality is very good. My expectation is that there will be more attention to all the divisions they have in the collaboration," said Om Kurus.
"Especially in HOK, there are two big teams that pay attention. There is indeed pressure too, but the attention has increased. Bigetron is paying attention to HOK, plus Vitality automatically makes us more enthusiastic to qualify, and our goal (to be champions) is there. We must be able to achieve that goal, I am happy with this collaboration, very happy," he concluded.
It is interesting to see what Bigetron's journey will be like in the IKL Spring 2025 playoffs. Can they make new history as the first champion of the Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL) Spring 2025? Let's just wait.
