Udil Surbakti’s actions at MPL Malaysia S13 stole the public’s attention. Lucky for MPL MY S13 who has Udil with a high entertainment spirit, that makes the tournament even more exciting to watch. Here are some of Udil’s taunting and drama in MPL MY S13 that heated the competition.
Udil's Taunts During the MPL Malaysia S13
1. Saying “I Don’t Miss Indonesia”
When he had just competed on the MPL MY S13 stage, Udil was asked by the host whether he missed Indonesia. Udil’s answer certainly surprised fans! While MPL ID misses Udil, Udil doesn’t miss Indonesia.
“Yes, honestly, I don’t (miss Indonesia). Malaysia is a perfect place to live. This is not because I’m in Malaysia right now, I’m flattering. That’s true, that’s a fact, I can’t lie about the beauty of Malaysia,” said Udil.
2. Mic Drop
After HomeBois beat Team HAQ with a score of 2-1, Udil wished a happy Eid al-Fitr. However, these remarks were closed with his mic drop which successfully drew various reactions from netizens and fans on social media and locations. The video clip of his mic drop action has been watched many times by netizens on social media and has become a topic of conversation.
3. Udil Admits He was Silenced
Several teams were targeted for taunting by Udil Surbakti, who is known as Spicy Boy. From Monster Vicious to King Empire Esports, Udil said these teams were too easy to beat.
“I think, because earlier we were against MV (Monster Vicious), right. The MV was weak. I mean, I feel like we just played normally. Once again, the MV was weak, so it was easy,” he said when asked by the MPL MY S13 Host.
However, when MPL MY S13 was in full swing, Udil Surbakti did not taunt in the fourth week. Udil also revealed that someone had silenced him.
“More or less because there is one reason, someone reported my speaking problem, and it wasn’t on stage, and I also know where the boundaries are. That happened in the media when there was an interview question about KGE (King Empire), yes I said KGE’s gameplay was trash,” he said.
Although Udil’s taunting targets were gameplay-related, not the personal abilities of the players.
“I didn’t even show any hatred towards the players there, not at all. I showed it towards their performance, which was like that, and it didn’t happen on stage,” Udil explained.
“It’s just that someone seemed to want to throw fuel, to stir up the atmosphere. Meanwhile, on the one hand, we all enjoy that kind of taunting or beef, and yes, in my opinion, as long as it’s not on stage, there’s nothing wrong. Even Moonton doesn’t make an issue out of it. But it’s regrettable when it happens, so I apologise guys, my mood is ruined, the vibe is ruined,” he said.
But, of course, that only lasted temporarily. After being helped by DaddyHood to solve the problem, Udil returned to action with his spicy taunting.
4. Taunting Alter Ego
When HomeBois advanced to the MPL MY S13 Grand Final, Udil launched a taunting attack on Alter Ego, his former team.
“Guys, lately a lot of people, especially from the Alter Ego team, have been hating on me. So they are in Indonesia, they should be salty, feeling jealous because I’m going to Riyadh and you’re sleeping at home and can’t do anything,” Udil said bitterly. “With HomeBois, I’m flying, brother.”
The relationship between Udil and his former teammates is indeed awkward. Especially when Rasy, the Alter Ego roamer, pretended not to know “who Udil was” when asked by the media crew.
However, Alter Ego CEO Delwyn Sukamto responded to this issue with a cool head. “Since when has the ALTER EGO TEAM been hating? Since when does the action of 1 person = 1 organisation? The ALTER EGO team never hated anyone, especially people who have made a lot of contributions to us. Congrats and good luck in the final, I hope you win and get a ticket to MSC,” wrote Ko Delwyn in the comments column of Emak MOBA on Instagram.
5. Taunting Competition with Gojes dan Rippo
The meeting between Red Giants Esports and HomeBois created a heated rivalry. At the beginning of the season, Udil Surbakti and Gojes met and engaged in taunting. Their actions elevated MPL MY’s name to the point where it was discussed outside the region, especially in Indonesia.
When the Red Giants beat HomeBois, Gojek searched for Udil to taunt him, “Udil, where’s Udil? Udiii!” Gojes gestured with eggs because his team defeated Udil’s team with a score of 2-0. This scene became an unforgettable moment.
Until the MPL MY S13 Grand Final, HomeBois had not been able to beat the Red Giants. The next season will be even more intense with Udil and Gojes, as well as HomeBois and Red Giants themselves.
Not only Gojes, Udil is also dealing with the taunting king Rippo. Rippo and RSG MY beat HomeBois in the Playoffs. Rippo also displayed taunting as if shooting Udil and his colleagues who he managed to defeat. However, Udil was able to respond to the taunting after HomeBois beat RSG MY in response. Udil even mentioned the name RSG PH to help RSG MY. Udil’s taunting is said to have provoked reactions from MPL fans in three countries.
