Luffy finally introduced Gear 5 form in front of Kaido. After being beaten to K.O in One Piece 1043, Luffy suddenly got back up with a different form. He said it was Gear 5 of the Gomu Gomu No Mi devil fruit aka Hito Hito No Mi Model: Nika. You could say, Kaido's strength with Luffy's form experienced a very far difference.

In One Piece 1045, we finally get to see some of Luffy's Gear 5 techniques that have been released. It must be admitted, the technique is indeed powerful. Moreover, Gorosei ensured that the only thing blocking and limiting that power was Luffy's own imagination.

That means, as long as there's imagination, Gear 5's power seems limitless. Gorosei also considers that power to be the most ridiculous power in the world. So what are Luffy's Gear 5 techniques that have been known so far? Here's the review!

1. Gomu Gomu Balloon

Gomu Gomu No Balloon is the first ability that Luffy shows in Gear 5 form. So what does this technique look like? This is a super simple technique that makes Luffy fail to eat Kaido. First Luffy sneaked into Kaido's stomach and beat him from the inside.

But in the middle of the blow, Luffy then stopped and suddenly got big! Practically because of Luffy's growing size, Kaido's stomach also expands, making him round like a balloon in the stomach. This made Yamato and Momonosuke surprised because Kaido's body was really ridiculous.

Kaido himself said that he was annoyed with Luffy because his body wasn't supposed to be as flexible as rubber but could still expand.

2. Gomu Gomu No Escape Rocket

Now this is Luffy's next Gear 5 technique! This technique allows Luffy to go and escape from Kaido's stomach! What's that? The Gomu Gomu No Escape Rocket was launched when Luffy saw two bright lights while in Kaido's stomach.

It turned out that the bright light was Kaido's eyes. Focusing on Kaido's eyes, Luffy immediately pushed his body sliding in the form of Gomu Gomu No Balloon to get out of Kaido's stomach. Kaido was immediately shocked by what Luffy did.

3. Gomu Gomu No Gigant

This is perhaps the most quirky and surprising. After Luffy got out of Kaido's body, he immediately blew his body to slide out of Kaido's reach. But then, suddenly the Gomu Gomu No Gigant was immediately released! This technique makes Luffy a giant in no time.

Unfortunately, despite barely being able to step on Kaido, this technique does nothing but make Luffy's body a giant. Kaido was able to dodge his stomp.

4. Gomu Gomu No Jump Rope

This technique was launched after Luffy grabbed Kaido's head and tail. As the name implies, Luffy makes Kaido as a jump rope or skipping. He did a jump rope using Kaido's body that he was holding.

This is certainly a pretty ridiculous technique. Even though he was sure he would win, in fact Gomu Gomu No Jump Rope didn't manage to do anything to Kaido.

5. Super Flexibility

This is a part of Luffy's defense system in Gear 5 mode. Because Kaido himself claims to have never seen a fighter who can fight freely without any restrictions or obstacles. Luffy can turn anything around him into rubber.

He can also withstand Kaido's blows by making his body follow the shape of the blow without any significant injury. Even though it looks ridiculous, so far what Luffy has done is one of the strongest forms of defense in One Piece so far.
