This technique won't slow his speed, but it will increase his very dangerous power. Curious with some dangerous attacks that Luffy can launch in Mode Gear 3rd? Let’s check this out!
1. Gomu Gomu no Red Rock
Gomu Gomu no Red Rock is a mix of harmful techniques! It’s the combination of Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun and Gomu Gomu no Red Hawk. Luffy activates Gear 3rd, inflating his fist, and with both Gear Second and advanced Busoshoku Haki, ignites it to deliver a huge flaming hardened punch.
This technique was strong enough to knock down, burn and injure Kaidou, even catching him on fire for a brief period of time. The attack is named after the Arabian mythical giant bird called a Roc. The name could also be a reference to Balloon, the Roc bird from the Romance Dawn, Version 2. It was first seen as an opening blow against Kaidou at Onigashima
2. Gomu Gomu no Giant Tsuppari
Gomu Gomu no Giant Tsuppari is a technique that has harmful raw power. To execute this technique, Luffy should activate Gear 3rd and create a giant version of his Gomu Gomu no Tsuppari, which was also used in Luffy's sumo match against Urashima.
Luffy stretches his arm very far back, and as it shoots forward he inflates it greatly before striking his opponent with a massive open palm. The palm is large enough to hit the entire body of the very large Urashima and send him flying out of the ring, destroying every building in his way. This is crazy!
3. Gomu Gomu no Thor Elephant Gun
This is an enhanced version of Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun, first seen when Luffy used it to defeat Don Chinjao in the Corrifa Colosseum. The attack differs from a regular Elephant Gun in that Luffy launches himself into the air with Gomu Gomu no Rocket first.
Before he launched the attack, Luffy discharged electricity when it landed. The attack is named after the Norse hammer-wielding god Thor. Thor in a technique name happened for the first time in the One Piece Film: Strong World, where it was a lightning strike enhanced Gigant Axe. Thor’s reference also exists in One Piece in the film One Piece: Strong World when a lightning strike increases the power of the Gigant Axe.
4. Gomu Gomu no Grizzly Magnum
One of Luffy’s strongest techniques which proved to be able to destroy Cesar Clown! This is Haki enhanced version of Gomu Gomu no Gigant Bazooka. Luffy gets distance away from his opponent and activates Gear Third on both his arms simultaneously.
He then runs towards the target with both his arms still static behind him before leaping in the air. While flying toward the enemy at a great speed he implements Busoshoku Haki into his arms, turning them black. He retracts his arms, and launches his attack with a great destructive power.
The technique is named after the Grizzly Win Mag made by the gun manufacturer L.A.R. This attack was first seen being used to defeat Caesar Clown.
5. Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gatling
Gomu Gomu no Gatling itself is already very harmful, moreover Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gatling! After enlarging and imbuing both his arms with Busoshoku Haki in a similar manner as Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun, Luffy performs his Gomu Gomu no Gatling, which, with the heavily enforced arms, causes massive damage.
Since the bulk of the air sits in his forearms and fists and not in his upper arms, it allows him to punch and pull back rapidly. This technique was first seen to defeat Hody Jones, as well as breaking apart the falling Noah.
In one of the specials, it was shown that he can also perform this technique with a single arm while retaining enough power to cause extensive damage to a large Marine base.
