Is it true that Aokiji has techniques that can immortalize someone's body and soul?
Anime & Manga | 28 September
Aokiji is the user of Logia-type devil fruit, Hie Hie no Mi, that allows him to become an iceman. This ex-Marine Admiral has one of three interesting techniques that can immortalize one's body and soul. Here's the explanation of Aokiji's techniques!
Ice Age
When it was first introduced, Aokiji used the Ice Age to freeze the sea. By putting his hands below the water's surface, the sea turned frozen in an instance, even making the sea monsters around frozen as well. During the Marineford arc, Aokiji also could freeze two tsunami waves created by Shirohige.
Now, imagine, what will happen if the tsunami didn't stop by him. All the Marines' troops could drown because they couldn't swim. Ice Age becomes one of the deadliest techniques owned by a man named Kuzan.
Ice Time
Aokiji once used this technique when against Luffy and Robin. Aside from them, this ex-Admiral also once used this to Diamond Jozu, Doflamingo, and Buggy. Ice Time is one of the techniques to freeze living creatures
People who get frozen with this technique won't die as long as their bodies are unshattered. Even so, there is a certain limit until when they can stay alive when frozen. Diamond Jozu lost his arm because shattered when frozen, Doflamingo could break the ice easily because his heart stayed intact or unfrozen.
Ice Time Capsule
Ice Time Capsule is the only technique that is only used once by Aokiji during the story. Aokiji used this to Jaguar D. Saul who at that time served as a Marine. Saul is the man who took care of Nico Robin since she was a little.
Sadly, at that time, the World Government ordered the Marines to sterilize Ohara Island using the Buster Call. This was because scientists at Ohara Island were currently researching about the secret behind the Blank Period.
Jaguar D. Saul was an Admiral, but he wanted to protect Nico Robin. Because of that, he didn't have a choice back then.
Aokiji seemed like he didn’t want to finish his buddy, but the World Government gave an order to finish all the inhabitants on the island. At the very last moment, Aokiji used the Ice Time Capsule technique to Saul. Before he was frozen, Saul offered a request to Aokiji to free Robin and he accepts.
Aokiji was in a tight situation because, aside from doing his job as a Marine, he also wanted to save his friend. According to the writer’s theory, the Ice Time Capsule could preserve the human body. As long as the body unshattered, Saul could live forever.
After the Ohara island was destroyed, the World Government said that Robin who managed to escape and no news about Saul. It looked like Aokiji brought Saul somewhere and left him frozen until the right time to unfreeze him. There is a possibility that Aokiji wanted to reunite Robin with him someday.
Aokiji is not the type that can finish someone easily, especially his buddy. So, it’s possible that he did it. What do you think about this theory?
