The anime movie “The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye” was first announced in early 2022. The movie adaptation of Mei Hachimoku’s light novel of the same title released its first trailer. The 30-second trailer features two of the main characters, Tono Kaoru and Anzu Hanaki. 

The sci-fi drama is directed by Tomohisa Tahuchi. In the video, CLAP Studio officially announced that the movie illustrated by Kukka will be released on 9 September 2022 in Japan. Aside from the visuals of the two main characters, the trailer also features the theme song "Performance" by the singer-songwriter eill. 

Tono Kaoru (Oji Suzuka) is a high school student who stumbles upon the legendary Urashima tunnel, a magical tunnel that is believed to be able to grant wishes. Anzu Hanaki (Marie Iitoyo) is a transfer student who promises to help Tono in his experiment on the mysterious tunnel.

Aside from that, other seiyuu are also  featured in the trailer, Tasuku Hatanaka will voice Kaoru’s friend, Shouhei Kaga. Arisa Komiya will voice Koharu Kawasaki, Anzu’s classmate. Haruka Terui will voice the teacher Hamamoto-sensei. Rikiya Koyama will voice Kaoru’s father, and Seiran Kobayashi as Kaoru’s sister, Karen Tono.
