Lunagaron is one of the “Three Lords” in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The second of the “Three Lords” that players face in the game is quite troublesome to deal with considering its agility and damage.

For those of you who are having a hard time dealing with Lunagaron in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, be sure to check out this guide!

Strengths and Weaknesses

Lunagaron’s weak spots are quite exposed and can be hit from any position. So, these spots aren’t the most important thing you need to pay attention to during the fight. However, if you have to choose, you can try to hit its head or its front legs.

As for the best elements to use against this monster, Lunagaron is particularly weak against Fire and Blast. But this monster also has resistance to Paralysis and Poison attacks.

Learn Lunagaron’s Moves and Attack Patterns

In Monster Hunter, players must learn the monsters’ moves and how to dodge them. Here are Lunagaron’s moves that you should be aware of:

  • Pounce: Lunagaron pounces at the player.
  • Body Slam: A quick attack where Lunagaron slams its body onto the player.
  • Icy Breath: A long-range attack where Lunagaron blows cold air from its mouth.
  • Icy Mist: A short-range attack. Lunagaron covers itself in an icy mist.
  • Furious Swipes: Lunagaron uses its claws to slash the player multiple times, knocking them down.
  • Tail Swipe: Lunagaron flips and swipes its tails against the ground.
  • Kick: A slow kick that Lunagaron performs while standing.
  • Ground Swipe: Lunagaron swipes its claws onto the earth, launching rocks into the air in a straight line.
  • Cross Slash: Lunagaron lunges and swipes both of its icy claws at its target.

Try to Break Lunagaron’s Ice ASAP

In its werewolf mode, Lunagaron is highly deadly, but you can actually end this mode earlier and knock it down at the same time.

If you deal enough damage to Lunagaron’s ice-covered body parts, you can force Lunagaron to get out of its werewolf mode and take it down.

So, the best defense is a good offense. Don’t take risks, but try to take its ice to stop Lunagaron!

Use Blast or Fire Attacks

Lunagaron has no major weakness, but it is slightly weak against Blast attacks. If you have a decent Blast weapon, it’d be a good idea to use it against Lunagaron.

However, if you don’t have any, you can also use Fire weapons as it’s pretty weak against this element.

Use Hammer or Hunting Horn

It’s highly recommended to use Bludgeoning weapons like Hammer or Hunting Horn against Lunagaron as you’ll inflict more damage against this monster using them.

Given that Lunagaron is quite weak against Blast and Fire, weapons in the Orangaten weapon tree, Magnamalo, or Anjanath work exceptionally well against this monster.
