Despite failing to win the VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 1 title, Paper Rex still believes in the process of rebuilding their roster. Presenting Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza makes the W Gaming roster even more promising. As a young player, PatMen has enormous potential.

PatMen's presence in Paper Rex will certainly change the strength of the W Gaming roster. It is known that Aaron “Mindfreak” Leonhart was removed from the roster and worked behind the scenes with coach Alexandre “Alecks” Salle. Mindfreak replaced the assistant coach position previously filled by Bobo.

This shift certainly did not make Mindfreak leave the team. Mindfreak even contributed more to helping Paper Rex. Moreover, they managed to win the Masters Toronto 2025 title as their first Masters title after a 5-year journey in the competitive Valorant scene.

Alecks' Explanation of Mindfreak's New Task at Paper Rex

In a press conference after Paper Rex won the 2025 Toronto Masters, Alecks answered a question from a journalist who asked what Mindfreak's new task was like and how he worked behind the scenes for the team so far and during the tournament at the Toronto Masters.

Alecks stated that, although he knew that Mindfreak actually still wanted to play, Mindfreak was the type of person or player who didn't want to make a fuss or make a fuss within the team. Alecks knew that Mindfreak might still have to adapt to his new role.

"I know that maybe everyone wants to play and he's the kind of person who doesn't make a fuss about it and just keeps going. Maybe, this will be difficult for him (but) I'm glad he wants to help us even though I know he might be able to argue about it," said Alecks.

Alecks added that what is happening with Mindfreak right now is a form of his love and concern as a figure who is a brother in the team with other players at Paper Rex. Alecks said that Mindfreak also helped the players individually.

Mindfreak shared his knowledge with the players, including f0rsakeN and Jinggg who recently changed roles.

"What he (Mindfreak) did was a form of brotherhood behind it all for us. Behind the scenes, he worked with the players individually. He discussed timing, small things, micro things. Then he also taught Jason (f0rsakeN) and JJ (Jinggg) about how to play with the role (smokers)," Alecks added.

Furthermore, Alecks explained that he invited Mindfreak to help him monitor the progress of the match. Alecks trusted Mindfreak's assessment because after working together for a long time, he believed that his and Mindfreak's thinking had the same direction.

“He also monitored half of the match for me, so even though I watched it, he had prepared it well, and I trusted him. We have worked together for quite a long time so whatever he thinks about the match we have the same mindset,” he said.

Since Mindfreak changed roles, Alecks has been grateful and feels very helped. As an experienced player, Alecks really respects Mindfreak, as do the Paper Rex players who listen to his instructions every time there is a pause in the match.

For Alecks, Mindfreak is truly a multifunctional figure. He can be considered an assistant but can also be a very helpful psychologist

“I feel very helped, I also realize how experienced he (Mindfreak) is and when he speaks during a tech pause everyone listens to him. Trust him. I am very grateful for his presence, he indirectly becomes an assistant coach and can be said to be like a psychologist in sports too,” he concluded,
