If you’re a fan of Marvel Studios and its movies, surely you recognize this winged superhero, Falcon, who’s real name is Sam Wilson who is one of many Marvel characters who debuted in the MCU on Captain America: The Winter Soldier on 2014. In the comics, Falcon’s story began when young Wilson became an orphan. He grew up in Harlem, where his biological father died due to rejecting the racism cult in the town, meanwhile, his mother got killed by a mugger years later. This thing made Wilson lived alone and became a volunteer in society.

Sam Wilson is a close friend of Steve Rogers. After he received help to retrieve his wings, Wilson finally joined S.H.I.E.L.D and become a member of the Avengers. In the comics, Wilson also told to wear Captain America’s outfit. That thing happened when Captain America was in Dimension Z, at that time, Roger’s powers got stolen and he started to age.

Who would have thought that Sam Wilson is the first superhero who came from African-American heritage? This character was created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan on 1069 and appeared for the first time in the Captain America #117 comic which was released in 1969.

During his early days, Wilson lived in a happy family with a father and a mother, but their parents had to left him when he was 16 years old. That tragedy made Wilson lost his way and moved to Los Angeles and became a criminal under pseudonym Snap Wilson.
