Game studios Koei Tecmo and Omega Force are currently developing one of the most anticipated games this year, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires which a lot of gamers believe is going to have a lot of changes from the disappointing Dynasty Warriors 9 that came out beforehand due to its forced and unsuccessful open-world element.

Like the previous Dynasty Warriors games, this Hack n Slash series always offers a massive range of cool characters from the story of the Three Ancient China Kingdoms or Samkok, and this time Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is going to introduce seven new characters that are going to be very fun to play, and they are:

1. Zhou Cang

Ex-member of the Yellow Turban faction who then became Guan Yu’s closest head officer, Zhou Chang is one of the new characters in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires who swore an oath to follow Guan Yu after witnessing his greatness. Cang is known as a great swimmer and runner who can run as far as Lu Bu’s Red Hare can go in one day.

2. Cheng Pu

Along with Huang Gai and Handang, Cheng Pu is a veteran general in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires who served Wu Kingdom for three generations along with the Sun family from Sun Jian, Sun Ce to Sun Quan, with many believing he’s one of the Five Wu Elders.

As a government officer, Cheng Pu held a reputation as a very visionary man with skills and inspiring appearance as Zhou Yu’s note stated that his followers never argued even once whenever he and Zhou Yu were together.

3. Xu Sheng

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is going to introduce Xu Sheng, a very famous general who’s known for building a some very tall fake walls which tricked Cao Pi into pulling back his troops and serving Wu for three generations across the history of the Three Kingdoms due to being a very loyal and brave leader with many contributions on his shoulder during the wars between Sun Quan and the Wei Kingdom.

4. Man Chong

Xu Huang had an old-time friend called Man Chong, a very capable strategist in defensive wars who is going to appear in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires as a new character.

Man Chong is a Wei officer and politician with valor, wisdom and eight chi height (about 190 cm) who helped Cao Ren at the Fan Castle and defended Hefei Castle. Even the Romance of the Three Kingdoms stated he was a very impressive man for being able to convince Xu Huang into serving Cao Coa.

5. Xun You

Xun Yu’s cousin, Xun You is going to serve Cao Cao as an advisor in Dynasty Warrior 9 Empires.

On par with Xun Yu and Sima Yi, Xun You is a capable Wei advisor and strategist whom Cao Cao entrusted. There have been quite some stories about him like how he refused awards and titles bestowed upon him as well as the ambiguity in his relationship with Xun Yu in many historical records.

6. Cao Xiu

Cao Xiu is Cao Cao’s nephew who becomes a new character in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, a Wei officer with great archery skill and was a great cavalry leader alongside Cao Chun as they teamed up to become the Tiger Leopard Riders. 

Unfortunately, Cao Xiu’s also known for being tricked by Wu’s Zhou Fang during the battle of Shi Ting as Zhou Fang plotted a fake betrayal, which led to his declining health out of shame and ultimately his own demise, even though he was about to replace Cao Ren as a Wei Commander.

7. Xin Xianying

New female character and a fanservice introduced in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, Xin Xianying is a wise woman who lived through the foundation of the Jin Kingdom and guided her family members like Xin Chang and Yang Hu to survive and rise through the ranks.

Xin Xianying is Xin Pi’s daughter and Xin Chang’s older sister who’s known for her visionary ideology and wisdom as she guides her family members in time of need.
