The official X account of the mobile game Uta No Prince-Sama Shining Live managed by KLab, formerly known as the Twitter account, announced that the game's service will be discontinued in Japan on December 26th 2023 at 14:00 JST. They also confirmed that they are developing a version of the game for the Nintendo Switch console, with more details to be announced later.

Since Thursday, October 26th 2023, sales of paid in-game Uta No Prince-Sama Shining Live items and various tickets have been discontinued, and new account registration has been closed.

The game Uta No Prince-Sama Shining Live was first launched in Japan in August 2017, and the global version was released by KLab in 2018. Unfortunately, the English and Traditional Chinese versions of the game discontinued their services in December 2022.

In this Uta No Prince-Sama Shining Live game, players can create and train a team of 11 ST☆RISH and QUARTET NIGHT idols. The game offers an original story featuring the characters as well as a Camera Mode that utilizes Augmented Reality (AR) technology.

On April 14th 2023, Broccoli announced that they are developing a new game app for the Uta No Prince-Sama dating simulation game series. They also stated that the agencies in the series, Shining Agency and Raging Entertainment, would be present in the game.

The Uta No Prince-Sama series began as a romantic visual novel series developed by Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software. The first game in the series was released for the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The series went on to inspire four seasons of anime, and the movie Uta No Prince-Sama Maji Love Kingdom opened in Japan in June 2019. The company Sentai Filmworks has licensed all four previous seasons of the anime series and the 2019 movie.

The latest movie in the series, Uta No☆Prince-Sama Maji LOVE ST☆RISH Tours, was released in Japan in September 2022, and the movie was shown by HIDIVE in the United States in January 2023.
