The 2024 Esports World Cup (EWC), which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 4 to August 25, 2024, forced one of the popular FPS games, VALORANT, to be not included.

The tournament with its splendor and fantastic prizes is officially without the presence of VALORANT due to the busy VALORANT competition schedule. This was confirmed by James Fudge as VALORANT's Esports Advocate.

Reporting from Dot Esports, Fudge explained that his party had fully considered being included in the EWC 2024 Riyadh list, especially since the pro players and fans pushed hard enough. Unfortunately, VALORANT did not find any chance in the schedule for this year's very crowded VCT tournament.

LoL and TFT Are Included in the 2024 EWC

However, Riot's other two games, League of Legends (LoL) and Teamfight Tactics (TFT), are still included in the 2024 EWC games list. Both games will be shown during the first and sixth weeks.

Riot, through Fudge's statement, reported that it had signed a contract with the Esports World Cup Foundation for one year. Riot is currently taking a wait-and-see stance regarding the partnership.

Riot Changes the 2025 VCT Schedule

As we all know, the 2024 VCT Masters playoffs are still ongoing with 4 teams remaining to compete for the title and Championship Points.

Seeing the busy VCT schedule this year, Riot Games has confirmed that it will change the VCT schedule for 2025 by spreading the schedule throughout the year so that VALORANT can compete in the 2025 Esports World Cup.
