Black Widow becomes one of the most tempting characters in Avengers movies. She is a Russian spy who was recruited and trained by K.G.B, a secret Russian organization. 5. Yelena Belova
Yelena Belova is the second modern age Black Widow who debuted in Inhumans #5 (March 1999), then Marvel later created her miniseries titled Black Widow. She became a spy as well as an assassin trained in The Red Room by the same man who trained Romanoff, Pyotr Vasilievich Starkovsky. When her mentor got killed, Belova received her first order as Black Widow to track down the killer. Belova’s Black Widow commonly appeared as an antagonist character, and at one time she encountered with Romanoff’s Black Widow, even though they’re not fighting until one of them down.
4. Claire Voyant
Claire Voyant the first female superhero in the history of American comic books (even appeared before Wonder Woman from DC comics). This character was a collaboration between George Kapitan as the writer and Harry Sahle as the artist. Claire firstly appeared on Mystic Comics #4, published in August 1940. With her alter ego as the Black Widow, she became an anti-hero who killed villains and deliver their souls to Satan, her master. It’s different than other versions of Black Widow, Claire’s Black Widow had a superpower to kill her enemies with just one touch!

Monica Chang’s Black Widow firstly appeared in Ultimate Comics: Avengers #3 (2010) series, which later followed by her regular appearance in Avengers A.I. (Artificial Intelligence). Her background is very interesting for some people. She was a member of the United States’ army saved by Nick Fury from enemy forces in Bosnia. Monica has an Asian-American face and a Muslim. She once married to Nick Fury but only for six months because she knew that Fury had an affair with another woman. Aside from carrying the Black Widow mantle, Chang also once served as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. after the previous chairman, Marvin Flumm, captured due to an assassination attempt to the President of the United States.

In the comics, Jessica Drew is famously known as Spider-Woman, but until All-New Ultimates (2014), her name changed into Ultimate Black Widow after joined The Young Ultimates. Interestingly, Drew serves as the leader of the group and carry on Captain America’s legacy to defend earth from Galactus’ wrath. As Spider-Woman, who is also taking the mantle as the Black Widow, she has superpower abilities as she can lift a weight up to 7 tons. Besides, she also has super speed, super stamina, and great reflexes and can fast healing.

And the last one on this list, we have Natasha Romanoff, an antagonist who turns out to be Russian spy to face Iron Man in Tales of Suspense #52 back in April 1964. Then she later recruited by costumed-archer named Hawkeye, then defected to the United States. Romanoff’s Black Widow mostly appeared in a group of superheroes like S.H.I.E.L.D., Avengers, and other groups as well compared to her appearance in her solo comics.
