Sony premiered a video about their newest pre-visualization studio, Torchlight, at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Monday, January 8th 2024. The video shows pre-visualization footage from the previously announced film Gravity Rush and provides a sneak peek at the project, the latest in the Patapon game series with the caption "IP Development Gaming / Anime.

This video does not provide direct commentary or further explanation of the project. The Gravity Rush trailer starts at 2:16 in the video, while the Patapon project sneak peek appears at 2:32.

The Patapon game was first released for the PlayStation Portable in Japan in December 2007 and outside Japan in February 2008. In August 2017, the game received a PlayStation 4 version. Patapon also had two sequels, Patapon 2 in 2008 in Japan and 2009 outside Japan , as well as Patapon 3 in April 2011.

Currently, PlayStation Productions and Scott Free Productions are developing a movie based on the game Gravity Rush (Gravity Daze in Japan). The film will be directed by Anna Mastro, with a screenplay written by Emily Jerome.

Gravity Rush, the original game from Japan Studio and Sony Computer Entertainment, was released for the PlayStation Vita in Japan in February 2012 and outside Japan in June 2012. A remastered version of Gravity Rush for the PlayStation 4 was released in Japan in December 2015 and outside Japan in February 2016. Gravity Rush 2 (Gravity Daze 2) as a sequel was released for PS4 in 2018.

This game also gets animation, especially as a prequel, which was worked on by Khara, the studio behind the latest Evangelion movie, entitled Gravity Rush: The Animation - Overture. This special animation fills the timeline gap between the first Gravity Rush story and its sequel and inspired the creation of the manga.

With the release of a teaser for a new project in the Patapon series, fans can hopefully look forward to further development of this game that has proven to be unique and interesting.
