Could Yuka, the former Dota 2 player, have made the leap into the professional Mobile Legends scene, even reaching the MPL stage? The idea isn’t as far-fetched as it might seem.

The phenomenon of Dota 2 players successfully transitioning into Mobile Legends coaching roles has become increasingly common. In fact, it’s now seen as a viable career path for Indonesian Dota 2 players who face limited opportunities in their home country.

As many know, Indonesian Dota 2 players often struggle to build careers locally. Their growth typically depends on being scouted by international teams, competing in the SEA region, and eventually aiming for The International (TI) with serious contenders.

For some, switching to Mobile Legends as a coach has become the best alternative. Not only do they find it easier to understand the game, but their macro-level strategic expertise from Dota 2 can be a significant asset in developing MLBB teams.

Names like Khezcute, Saint de Lucaz, NMM, Facehugger, Aville, and Xepher have already made their mark in the MPL ID scene.

But here’s an intriguing twist: Yuka, a key figure from A4AClan and a former Dota 2 pro, recently revealed that he was almost part of this trend.

Yuka Almost Became an MLBB Coach Before Marapton Stepped In

During a live stream on Rapstronot’s channel, Yuka shared an interesting story about his potential move into coaching within the MOBA scene. He revealed that he had received offers to coach both Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings (HOK).

“I was once offered a coaching position for an MDL team. But I got ghosted, so it didn’t happen. This was before Marapton came into the picture,” Yuka explained.

There were two offers. The first was to coach Dominator in Honor of Kings, but I didn’t understand the game well enough. It’s not comfortable to take on a job if you’re not capable, right? I didn’t feel good about it. The second offer was to coach a Mobile Legends MDL team, but I got ghosted. So, neither of them worked out,” he added.

In the end, Yuka’s path diverged from that of other Dota 2 players. Instead of diving into the esports scene, he found success as a prominent streamer alongside Arap and the gang.

Today, Yuka is a well-known figure, more of a celebrity than an esports professional. His focus has shifted away from the grueling demands of competitive gaming, opting instead for a career that aligns with his current lifestyle.

For now, Yuka becoming an MLBB coach remains a “what if” scenario. But as with anything in the ever-evolving world of esports, the future is unpredictable. Who knows where it might take him next?
