HoYoverse is preparing another major update for Zenless Zone Zero. With the version 2.8 update, players will receive a continuation of the main story, two new S-Rank Agents, and a highly anticipated platform expansion: the game's arrival on Steam. The update is scheduled to launch on May 6, 2026.

Version 2.8 brings a new chapter that continues the conflict in the Outer Ring region. This time, the story focuses on the hunt for a mysterious figure named Ramiel, who is said to be crucial to the development of the plot leading up to the conclusion of Season 2. Several major factions are expected to be involved, making the scale of the conflict in this update feel even greater than in previous chapters.

Besides the story, this latest update also introduces two new Agents who immediately caught the eye. The first is Promeia, an S-Rank character with the Ice attribute and specializing in Anomalies. Her fighting style focuses on inflicting status effects and elemental combos, making her a potentially interesting choice for elemental reaction-based team formations.

The second character is Starlight Billy, a new version of Billy, whom players have known since the beginning of the game. This time, Billy arrives in S-Rank status with much more aggressive Physical-type fighting abilities. Another important news comes from the game's distribution side. Along with this update, Zenless Zone Zero is confirmed to launch on Steam. Its store page is now available for wishlists, complete with support for cross-platform account syncing.
