The announcement of the renowned coach Bjorn "Zeys" Ong returning to the competitive MLBB scene with Team Flash for MPL Singapore S9 took everyone by surprise on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. After nearly three years away, Zeys is back in action in his home country, Singapore. 

Previously, Zeys coached the MPL team during MPL Indonesia Season 10 (MPL ID S10) with EVOS Legends, where he faced disappointment as the team did not qualify for the playoffs for the first time. However, he later achieved success by leading the Indonesian MLBB National Team to victory. 

Zeys guided the Indonesian MLBB National Team to triumph at the IESF World Esports Championship 2022 held in Bali, Indonesia. This marked his second significant achievement on the international stage, having previously led EVOS Legends to win the M1 World Championship in 2019. 

Zeys' return to MPL has certainly caught many off guard, especially since there were no prior hints about it. Currently, he is busy managing a training class focused on MLBB and remains actively involved in analyzing all aspects of the game and its competitive environment.

Zeys Makes a Comeback in MPL As His Last Competitive Journey

Zeys has been named the coach of Team Flash as they prepare for MPL Singapore Season 9, set to begin in May. He will collaborate with the team's coach, Kayzeepi, and will also train several well-known MLBB stars from Singapore.

Team Flash has a history of impressive achievements in MPL Singapore, having participated in various international MLBB tournaments, including the MSC 2024 Esports World Cup and the Games of The Future 2024, as well as making it to the MLBB World Championship at M5 and M6 in 2023 and 2024.

Previously, Team Flash partnered with the renowned European esports organization, Ninjas In Pyjamas (NiP), but that partnership ended recently due to new regulations for the Esports World Cup, presenting a significant challenge for Zeys.

While he hasn't publicly commented on his return to the competitive scene, Zeys shared a brief message on his Instagram, hinting at his comeback. He mentioned that this would be his final season, stating, "For Singapore, 1 season, the last run."

If Zeys achieves success with Team Flash, he could qualify for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025. Could this be the ultimate farewell tour for Zeys in the MLBB competitive arena? Only time will tell.
