Yen Press has also released the series in full-color omnibus and hardcover editions, giving it an attractive presentation for collectors.

Zom 100: Bucket List of The Dead

Traumatized by years of working an unsatisfactory position, Akira has reached a breaking point both physically and mentally. However, this changes when zombies take over and the disgruntled man gets a chance to go his own way.

A solid comedy that devolves into more serious drama in later volumes, Zom 100 is as much fun as its lengthy title. Given that the series is still in its infancy, it's hard to say how the story will develop. For now, it's proving to be a favorite among fans of the genre.

Sankarea: Undying Love

Sankarea: Undying Love starts with something quite unique where Chihiro Furuya, is a boy who is obsessed with female zombies and the dead. Chihiro is compelled to make a revival potion which doesn't go as planned.

Chirio's potion eventually turns his disaffected friend, Rea Sanka, into a resurrected zombie. Rea is very happy that she doesn't have to obey the responsibilities of life and stays with Chihiro who is happy to apply his zombie knowledge.

I Am a Hero

Not only the best in the zombie genre, I Am Hero is easily one of the best horror manga of all time. The story of a loser turned hero is great in the zombie genre.

Additionally, the manga has a strong visual approach and a touch of surrealism that makes for an engrossing and unique experience. Currently available in Omnibus form from Dark Horse manga.

School-Live!

Cute girls doing cute things while trying to survive the zombie apocalypse has proven to be a great formula in School-Live! To say success is only in a new approach would be a misstep because the series boasts such memorable characters.

Balancing a sprinkling of comedy and strong horror elements, School-Live! full of deep storytelling and useful surprises.
