Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc has now entered its second episode, so what are the interesting things about Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Episode 2? Let's discuss important things and facts in this episode.
Facts in Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Episode 2
1. Tamayo Moves into the Demon Slayer Corps Residence
The first episode of the Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc ended with a 'cliffhanger' where Tamayo received a message from Ubuyashiki's crow messenger inviting him to join the Demon Slayer Corps to defeat Muzan. The episode ends with Tamayo shocked and a little scared by the invitation. Moreover, she is a devil who has to enter the 'tiger cage', namely devil hunters.
However, this second episode continues the ending of the first episode, where Tamayo's tense reaction to the alliance offer made Yushiro shocked and run over to Tamayo knowing the presence of the uninvited guest. When Yushiro asked her to prepare to 'move houses again' because their residence was already known to Ubuyashiki, Tamayo actually said the opposite and said to prepare to leave the current house to move to the residence of the Demon Slayer Corps so that they could form an alliance and join forces to organize a plan to defeat Muzan and completed the results of her research so far.
2. Tanjiro Tried to Talk to Giyu
Tanjiro, who is currently still recovering, cannot yet join in the Hashira training which has started to be implemented. Tanjiro got a letter from Ubuyashiki saying Giyu did not take Hashira training and asked Tanjiro to talk to Giyu patiently so that he would no longer face back alone. Tanjiro decided to go and meet Giyu at his residence. It's not easy for Tanjiro to move Giyu's heart, especially since he spends more time alone. Armed with onigiri from Aoi for Tanjiro, he managed to arrive at Giyu's residence, Giyu didn't even welcome Tanjiro's arrival, and instead, he ignored him.
He told Giyu about the training that had started, and he wanted training from Giyu, but Giyu did not agree because for him 'he was different from other Hashira'. Giyu even considers himself not to be a Water Hashira and leaves Tanjiro right away. However, Tanjiro persistently waited for Giyu to speak in front of his room, leaving the onigiri he had brought with him. The next day, Tanjiro's persistence succeeded, Giyu wanted to leave his room and Tanjiro continued to babble again to get Giyu to talk.
3. The story Behind the Teacher's Graduation as a Demon Slayer
Because he felt annoyed and was constantly being disturbed by Tanjiro who was fussy and kept calling his name, Giyu decided to come out and tell the reason behind his graduation at the Demon Hunter Final Selection, and said that he actually 'didn't pass' the round. In this section, you will be taken to a flashback of Giyu's story when he met a boy named Sabito. During the selection, Giyu spent a lot of time with Sabito and they quickly became close because they were both alone. Giyu also shared how Sabito was very kind and helped his friends in the selection process in his class.
Sabito was the person who slayed the most demons in the selection, unfortunately, everyone passed except Sabito himself who was killed by the demons in the end. Meanwhile, Giyu himself was injured by the first demon who attacked him and almost lost consciousness. That's when Sabito came and helped him to finish off the demon. Sabito, who cared about his colleagues, continued to help other friends who were in danger, while Giyu, who was injured at that time, was looked after by other colleagues. Finally, Giyu woke up when he realized after managing to survive seven days of being unconscious. When he woke up he realized that Sabito was the only one who didn't escape because he was killed by a demon.
Giyu feels inappropriate because as someone who 'didn't eradicate demons at all,' he was able to escape only because he was helped by Sabito. Therefore, until now, he felt that he did not deserve to be named the Hashira of Water, and from the start, he felt that he did not deserve to be compared to the other Hashira.
4. Giyuu was Struck by Reality
Giyu's story made Tanjiro confused about what else to say to cheer him up and move his heart so he could help provide training. Tanjiro also remembered that Sabito was the man who trained him on Mount Sagiri when he was about to take part in the Final Selection for the Demon Slayer Corps. Suddenly Tanjiro remembered Inosuke's words when Rengoku Kyojuro died, who risked his life to protect Tanjiro and his friends in the Mugen Train tragedy, namely "If he says he believes, then we have to answer his hopes". This makes Tanjiro ask Giyu, "Do you not want to continue what Sabito entrusted you with?" This made Giyu immediately stunned, and fell silent for a moment as if he had been slapped by the question. Tanjiro's words made Giyu remember how Sabito had scolded him because he felt 'it would be better for him to die'. This made Giyu remember his conversation with Sabito at that time, who continued to encourage him to become a demon hunter amid his loss.
5. Giyu is Willing to Provide Hashira Training for Sabito's Sake
After regaining consciousness thanks to Tanjiro's words, Giyu finally agreed to provide a Hashira training to other demon slayers. Even though he doesn't know the details of his training from Shinobu Kocho, Giyu has now agreed to do it. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Shinobu tries to calm herself down at the Kocho residence.
This episode ends with a conversation between Shinobu and Kanao Tsuyuri who asks Shinobu to give her training. However, Shinobu said that this time she couldn't take part in Hashira Training for some reason. Kanao expresses her heart's desire to train more with Shinobu. However, this episode hangs with how Shinobu finally decides to tell the facts about the demon who killed Kanae, Shinobu's older sister, and how to kill the demon.
So, that's all of the important things you can find from Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Episode 2. What do you think? In this episode, we can find out the real reason behind Giyu's indifferent nature all this time, and we are also introduced to the character Sabito again.
