1. Tao Ren

When about to go to cram school at night, Manta meets a shaman who is looking for Yoh. His name is Tao Ren. Ren is attracted to Amidamaru and wants to take him from Yoh. He also shows his companion spirit, Bason. Manta then tells Yoh and he is interested in meeting Ren.
Amidamaru is curious about Ren’s companion spirit, who was said to be a Chinese Military General. They also accidentally run into Ren on the street who is dealing with delinquents. According to Ren, their vehicle’s smoke blocks the stars so they are unseen. Ren finishes off them with ease.
2. Yoh vs Ren

According to Yoh, everyone who can see spirits is a good person. But unlike Ren, who was trying to kill someone. Yoh immediately stops him, and their fight begins. Initially, Yoh is lost because he cannot use Amidamaru's power to 100 percent, while Ren can use it.
When he’s about to lose, Yoh gets up and can combine his 100 thoughts with Amidamaru. That way, Yoh's fighting prowess can be 100% the same as Amidamaru. With the Amida-Ryuu go Koujin technique, Ren is defeated even though Yoh only uses a wooden sword. After that., they both fall.
3. Yoh’s Dream

After the fight and lying on the ground, Yoh is taken by Manta to the hospital. At that time, Yoh has a dream when he’s being trained by his grandfather as a child. As the successor of the Asakura family, his grandfather wanted Yoh to become a great shaman and defeat Hao. Yoh himself is a lazy person, and he just wants to live in peace and listen to his favorite music.
His grandfather explains about the Spirit King and Shaman King. After hearing the story, Yoh starts to get excited about practicing and dreamed of becoming a Shaman King. The funny thing is, Yoh's motivation to become a Shaman King is so that he can befriend the Spirit King, and later he can listen to music in peace.
4. Anna Itako

Shortly after dreaming about discussing Shaman King with his grandfather, Yoh wakes up. Yoh admits that his goal is to train so far so that he can become a Shaman King. Not long after that, a woman appears and wants to visit Yoh. Manta gets annoyed because this woman just walked in and he immediately scolds her.
