After the sweats and tears, here's a recap of the Indonesian national esports team's journey at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia.
The esports sports programme at the 2023 SEA Games have ended. The Indonesian national teams have given all their best at this year's Southeast Asian Games.
There were numerous memorable moments throughout the Red-and-White's journey at the 2023 SEA Games. Here's a recap of the national teams' journey.
2023 SEA Games Recap: The Indonesian National Esports Teams' Journey
1. Crossfire
The Red-and-White teams first fight in the 2023 SEA Games esports programme begun with the Crossfire event. In this event, the Indonesian national team managed to advance to the Finals.
Unfortunately, in the Finals against Vietnam, the Red-and-White team could not do much. They had to settle for second place, and brought home the silver medal.
2. Valorant
The Indonesian national Valorant team had a rough start even from the Group Stage, with several defeats. However, the team managed to turn things around, and qualify for the Playoffs.
In the Playoffs, Indonesia eventually advanced to the Finals. However, the team encountered another challenge as the Singapore national team allegedly committed Cypher bug abuse during the Finals.
After going through a very long and tiring process, it was eventually announced that Indonesia and Singapore were the joint-gold medalists in the 2023 SEA Games Valorant.
3. Women’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
The Indonesian heroines truly dominated the Women's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event. The team had a smooth sailing throughout the qualifiers to the Playoffs.
Unfortunately, in the Finals against the Philippines, they lost two consecutive points in the Bo5 (Best of 5) format. However, the Indonesian national team managed to pull off an inspiring comeback to eventually win the gold medal.

4. Men’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Unlike the women's event, in the Men's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event, the Indonesian national team failed to win any medal. The team suffered several defeats in the Group Stage, which led to the Red-and-White not being able to qualify for the Playoffs. A heartbreaking moment as the roster shed tears as soon they found out they had failed to bring home any medal from this event.
5. PUBG Mobile Team
Indonesia sent two teams to compete in this event, namely INA1 and INA2. However, only INA2 managed to bring home the gold medal. INA2 managed to grab several WWCDs (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner).
However, the INA1 also had a decent run in the event. In which, they managed to finish fifth in the final standings.
6. PUBG Mobile Solo
It's the last event that the Indonesian national esports teams participated in at the 2023 SEA Games. Despite being the last event, the country's representative managed to win a silver medal for Indonesia.
For this achievement, Indonesia also managed to become the overall champion of the 2023 SEA Games esports sporting programme.
