Too bad, Square Enix has cancelled its upcoming role-play game for PS4: Project Prelude Rune!
On Tuesday (13/5/2019), Square Enix has confirmed the news to US Gamer that they had shut down Studio Isolia, the game studio behind it and cancelled the game which is currently being developed, Project Prelude Rune, an RPG for PS4. The staff was relocated to the other Square Enix’s projects.
Square Enix explained that they cancelled this project following evaluation of various aspects of Project Prelude Rune. The former Istolia’s president and the producer of Project Prelude Rune, Hideo Baba has resigned from Square Enix in March 2019 and also resigned from his position as Studio Istolia due to a change in management policies in December 2018.
A trailer of Project Prelude Rune which was released in September 2018 showed that the game was being developed to be Unreal Engine-based PS4, but now the video has been deleted. Square Enix announced the game when Studio Istolia has been established in February 2017. It is really unfortunate, even though the quality of Square Enix game is undoubted by the gamers especially RPG.
