Who doesn’t recognize this famous character in a video game? Carl Johnson, better known as CJ, is the main protagonist of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Eventually, he becomes the most lovable protagonist from all GTA protagonists ever existed. It turns out in Grand Theft Auto V, there are some proofs that CJ still exist in the game, or in 2013 when GTA V sets in. Curious with those proofs? Take a look below.

10. Money With Rochell'le’s Face

Inside Yellow Jack Inn, you can see some money worth of US$69 glued on the wall. If you take a closer look, the money featured a familiar woman who often appeared on GTA San Andreas artwork. She is Rochell'le, a famous R&B or Hip Hop singer in GTA San Andreas. Also, she is Madd Dogg’s ex-girlfriend.

9. Madd Dogg and OG Loc’s Poster

If you look closer, you will find Madd Dogg’s poster, CD, and 3 Golden Records hanging on Franklin’s house. The poster, as well as the CD, also can be found in Jimmy’s room. Madd Dogg's famous turns out to be carried over to GTA V.

8. Grove Street Families Graffiti

CJ is a part of Grove Street Families, a gang that originates in Los Santos with green as their representative color. On Chamberlain Hills near Franklin's house in GTA V,  you can see "Welcome Back - We missed you last time" graffiti with green colors to greet players of their returning to Los Santos.

7. The Three’s Cameo

During the Hood Safari mission, you can see three bikers who are passing by when you near your destination. Interestingly, those three BMX bikers appear similarly like CJ, Sweet, and Ryder. Their cameo will remind you of Sweet and Kendl’s mission in GTA San Andreas.

6. Reuniting the Family

Did you know that some missions in GTA V share similarities with GTA San Andreas’? During the Reuniting the Family mission, playing as Michael, you have to take back your family. He has to pick up Amanda and Tracy and later trying to be a good friend to his son, Jimmy. But the name of the mission itself also appears in GTA San Andreas, where CJ must reunite two separated Grove Street Family territories.

5. Jumping the Train

During the Derailed mission in GTA V, there is a Gold Medal objective called "Better than CJ." This medal can be achieved if Trevor manages to land atop the train perfectly on his first jump. This mission is a call back to the "Wrong Side of The Track" in GTA San Andreas when CJ and Big Smoke doing the same thing.

4. CJ Seeling Toothpaste

It looks like in GTA V, CJ has owned a toothpaste company. This is proven with the discovery of a toothpaste brand, "CJ's Toothpaste." Its existence can be found in Franklin’s old house bathroom and Michael’s house.

3. CJ’s Photo

When you visit Lester’s house to undergo a mission “The Jewel Store Job,” you can see CJ’s photo on a book titled "Surveillance" written by Emily Cross. 

2. Franklin’s Voice Actor is a Real-life Cousin of CJ’s Voice Actor

Franklin’s voice actor, Shawn Fonteno, is a real-life cousin of CJ’s voice actor, Young Maylay. These two guys become a success after lending their voice on the GTA franchise.

1. Secret Code

On a Grand Senora Desert highway, you can find a secret code "125820423620420-310". These numbers are placed atop of "Los Santos" graffiti and written so small. When the code turned into the alphabet, then it will show "AYHTDWFTDT-CJ." These alphabeths are pointed on a line shouted by Big Smoke to CJ; "All you had to do, was follow the damn train, CJ!" during the "Wrong Side of The Track." This line becomes famous all over the internet.
