10 Facts About King The Wildfire in One Piece, Kaido’s Right-Hand Man!
Here are some facts about King the Wildfire in One Piece!
Anime & Manga | 12 December
King The Wildfire is one of the antagonists in the Wano arc. This is because he’s a part of the Kaido Pirates who are hunted by Luffy and the others. It’s interesting to know more about him due to his mysterious appearance. Let’s find out about him here!
1. Appears at the Beginning of Wano Arc
As a part of Kaido Pirates, surely King The Wildfire becomes one of the antagonists in the Wano arc. At the beginning of this arc, King was already seen with his brother, Queen The Plague. King’s first appearance in the manga was in chapter 920 in silhouette and later introduced in chapter 925. In the anime, he appeared in episode 918.
2. King’s Position
King The Wildfire is one of the All-Stars in the Wild Beast Pirates, meaning he’s on the same level as Queen and Jack. He works directly under Kaido, and he won’t agree to anyone else but him. From all All-Stars, it looks like King is the strongest and often takes care of him as seen in Onigashima.
3. His Devil Fruit
Similar to other Wild Beast Pirates, King is also one of the devil fruit users. Becoming Kaido’s right-hand man, surely his fighting prowess is beyond average. He ate the Ancient Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi: model Pteranodon devil fruit, making him able to transform into pterosaurs.
With his ability, he was able to slam Big Mom’s massive ship upon entering Wano.
4. The Strongest All-Star
Even though Kaido’s three All-Stars are the users of Ancient Zoan, it looks like King is the strongest among them. Queen’s Brachiosaurus form probably is not that strong as we imagined when facing Big Mom, while Jack’s ability is still below King’s.
When King transforms into pterosaurs, he’s able to slam Big Mom’s ship that was mounted by dangerous fighters. King’s superiority compared to all All-Stars is that he's able to fight mid-air. Not only that, but King’s stamina is also high enough so he’s able to fight for a long time.
5. King’s Race
King is still a mysterious character even though the Wano arc is over half-way. According to Big Mom, King’s race is already extinct, so he’s the last of his kind, and because of that, Big Mom wants to recruit him.
Who exactly King is still unknown, and his attire is similar to Impel Down’s warden. Presumably, King’s identity will be revealed at the end of the Wano arc.
6. Has Fire-Based Ability
Even though King is a fighter who relies on devil fruit, he also has another ability. As seen numerous times, King can produce fire from his back.
Surely fire is not from his devil fruit, and that means the fire-producing is related to his race. On top of that, he uses the fire in battle as seen when King’s kicking Big Mom's ship until it fell from the waterfall.
7. A Capable Swordsman
In his pterosaur form, King is not seen as a swordsman. But if we take a closer look, King has a sword on his waist, and surely King’s swordplay technique is beyond average, as seen in the flashback when he fought Ashura Doji.
King’s sword was also used by Kaido when he beheaded Orochi. A few theories said that King will be Zoro’s enemy at the end of this arc.
8. Has His Own Authority
Becoming Kaido’s right-hand man, the King gets his authority. For example, when he dropped Big Mom’s ship when trying to enter Wano, King did that without Kaido’s orders. Then, he also gathered Kaido’s special troop, Tobi Roppo, also without Kaido’s permission.
It looks like Kaido already trusts him so he trusted a few fundamental things to him.
9. Has a Pair of Wings
The Ryu Ryu no Mi: model Pteranodon gives a pair of wings to the user when under Pterosaurs form. Uniquely, before that, King already owned a pair. At first, those wings were depicted as white, but for some reason, Oda changed it to black.
Does his race is connected to Skypiean people where everybody has wings? We’ll see until Oda reveals who King is.
10. King’s Inspiration
King has the ability that can produce fire and his devil fruit is Ancient Zoan Pteranodon. This is similar to a monster in Rodan movies. One of the monster’s reincarnations is called Fire Rodan.
Fire Rodan is known as pterosaurs that live inside a volcano. If we take a closer look, this is similar to King The Wildfire, but Oda is yet to confirm this.
