In Universe 7, Beerus is the God of Destruction, who always has his martial arts teacher and attendant, Whis, along his side. As the God of Destruction, Beerus possesses insurmountable destructive powers -- he can destroy a planet just by sneezing.

2. Beerus Dies If the Supreme Kais of Universe 7 Die

Since the incredible powers that Beerus possesses, there are only a handful of individuals who can match his powers and even kill him in a fight. This suggests that Beerus isn’t necessarily immortal as he can still be killed.

Beerus’ life is linked to Shin, the only remaining Supreme Kai of Universe 7. If Shin dies, Beerus dies too.

Beerus’ purpose is to destroy, yet he also has to protect Shin to survive. Beerus has no intention of being killed and is willing to live for a couple of hundreds-of-millions years more.

3. The Character Design is Based On a Rex Cornish

Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, got the inspiration for Beerus’ character design from a Rex Cornish that lives with him. He got the idea when the cat was seriously ill and declared to only has a short time to live. But, miraculously, the cat recovered and the vet joked that the cat might be a devil.

Other inspirations for Beerus’ character design are the ancient Egyptian deities, Seth and Sekhmet. Seth is a humanoid god of evil with a jackal head. Whereas Sekhmet is the Egyptian Goddess of fire who would punish humankind by destroying things.

4. The Most Feared God, Even by Shenron

Of the many Gods in the series, Beerus is probably the most feared even by the Kais, Supreme Kais, King Cold, Frieza, Cooler, King Vegeta, or Shenron. As the God of Destruction, Beerus is tasked with maintaining the balance of Universe 7.

5. His Sneeze is Highly Destructive

One time, when he was napping, Beerus was woken up by his sneeze, which ended up destroying the two suns of his planet. Luckily, Whis helped him by re-doing time to prevent the damage. However, that’s not the first time for Beerus to destroy things with his sneeze.

When Goku and Vegeta were training with Whis, a butterfly lands on Beerus’ nose, causing him to sneeze, which also led to a burst of Ki that destroyed a moon.

In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Beerus mentioned that he once visited Earth before, and wiped out the dinosaurs as he felt they were rude towards him.

7. He Once Used Chopsticks in a Fight

When he was at Bulma’s party, Beerus fought Android 18, Piccolo, and Tien Shinhan just by using chopsticks. They fought over a trivial matter: pudding.

8. Destroyed Half of a Planet Due to a Greasy Food

Beerus is quite picky with his food as he always sniffs and touches the food before eating it. Once, he found out that the food served to him is too greasy. And, he ended up destroying half of a planet just for the reason that grease is unhealthy and can make him feel lethargic.

9. Has a Twin Brother, Champa

As it turns out, Beerus has a twin brother who’s also a God of Destruction named Champa. Champa is basically the heftier, brasher version of Beerus, and they never get along. During a fight, they almost caused the destruction of an entire universe in the past.

10. Is Yet to Attain the Ultra Instinct Technique

Goku has attained the Ultra Instinct for his fight against Jiren. However, Beerus is yet to be able to use the technique. It’s because Beerus only spends a fraction of his time practicing, instead, he uses most of his time for sleeping. He's supposed to be already able to master this technique thousands of years ago.
