1. Warcraft (2016)
Visual-wise, the Warcraft film is certainly very impressive. The Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) used in this film is excellent. In fact, every Orc character in this film looks real. Unfortunately, the storyline of the Warcraft movie is disappointing. The storyline of this film is very short as if it was cut on purpose. In the end, many scenes become nonsensical and appear rushed.
2. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life (2003)
Tomb Raider is a video game franchise that is very popular among gamers. But her popularity didn’t help boost the success of the film Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life. Even the beautiful actress Angelina Jolie was involved in the making of this film. But again, this live-action film is deemed not to meet the expectations of its fans.
3. Tekken (2009)
Tekken is the first video game adaptation film that has been directly criticized by its creators. Katsuhiro Harada directly said that this Hollywood-made Tekken film was bad. The Tekken film tells the story of Jin, played by Jon Foo. The film has a prequel called Tekken 2: Kazuya's Revenge.
4. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is a sequel to the Mortal Kombat film released in 1995. This film tells the story of the adventures of Liu Kang, Kitana, Sonya Blade, Rayden, and Johnny Cage who must return to face Shao-Kahn who again tries to rule the world after finding a portal connecting Earth with Outerworld. Unfortunately, this film is considered to have failed to continue the success of its first film because of the weightless story and boring battle scenes.
5. Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li (2009)
If the Street Fighter film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme looked bad, try checking out Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li. the film didn’t live up to expectations. As the title implies, this film tells the story of Chun-Li, played by Kristin Kreuk. The storyline of this film was criticized weakly and the selection of actors was not in accordance with the film.

6. House of The Dead (2003)
House of The Dead was a very popular video game in the 90s. But who would have thought that when it became a movie, the horror video game adaptation film was disappointing. The film, which was directed by Uwe Boll, is considered to have a messy storyline and does not have a plot twist. As a result, many film critics consider House of The Dead to be a disappointing video game adaptation.
7. Super Mario Bros. (1993)
Who doesn't know Super Mario Bros.? This Nintendo exclusive video game was also made into a movie in 1993. However, this video game adaptation film is considered a failure. Because of the failure, the film Super Mario Bros. cannot cover the budget was spent on the filmmaking process. The production cost was 48 million USD while the profit is only 20 million USD. Wanting to look different, the film Super Mario Bros. combines elements of comedy in cartoons with real-world conditions. The results turned out to be not as expected.
8. Alone in the Dark (2005)
Alone in the Dark is a game that tells the story of a detective named Edward Carnby who is in charge of investigating various haunted places. This game was released in 1992 for PC and got a pretty good reception. Unfortunately, similar success did not continue with his film adaptation directed by (none other than) Uwe Boll. In this film, Boll successfully destroys the big name of the game Alone in the Dark which is very intense and creepy to be very ridiculous thanks to cheap dialogue and also unnecessary action scenes.
9. Hitman (2007) and Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)
Hollywood has made two Hitman films and both failed to live up to expectations. Actors Timothy Olyphant and Rupert Friend failed to portray Agent 47. In the game, Agent 47 is known as a cold-blooded killer who kills his target secretly. In the film, Agent 47 actually does a lot of unnecessary action scenes.
10. Need for Speed (2014)
Need for Speed is a disappointing film adaptation of a video game. Although Aaron Paul stars in the film, whose career is on the rise, Need for Speed, which was released in 2014, is still a failure. The storyline that this film adopts is less biting and boring. The wild car racing elements in Need for Speed are also considered to be a copy of the Fast and Furious film.
