The legendary actor passed away on Saturday (27/2/2021) at Union Hospital, Hong Kong. He passed away at 70 years old because of liver cancer.

1. All for the Winner (1990)

All for the Winner is a legendary film with Ng Man-Tat as one of the casts. In this film, Ng Man-Tat played uncle Tat, the uncle of Chow Sing-Cho (Stephen Chow) who lived in Hong Kong. In this film, uncle Tat knows that his Nephew Sing has the ability to shoot and swap cards. With those abilities, Sing played against the king of gamblers and fell in love with a woman who protects him.

2. God of Gamblers 2 (1990)

After the success of the first film, Sing appeared again in the sequel, God of Gamblers 2, which was released in 1990. The 99-minute film tells the story of Sing who became the god of gamblers. But, Sing faced someone more talented than him, Michael Chan (Andy Lau) the knight of gamblers, and a student of the god of gamblers (Chow Yun Fat).

3. Fight Back to School (1991)

Fight Back To School is a comedy film released in 1991 directed by Gordon Chan. The film tells the story of a SWAT leader undercover in a school to steal weapons for his captain. In this film, Ng Man-Tat played Tso Tat-Wah or uncle Tat. He is an old and incompetent police detective who had to work with Chow Sing-Sing (Stephen Chow) to uncover the weapon deals.

4. Love on Delivery (1994)

Love on Delivery that was released in 1992 has a straightforward story. It tells the story of a man named Ang Ho-Kam (Stephen Chow) who fell in love with a woman. But another man also fell in love with the woman and the woman said that she loved a strong man.

Ang Ho-Kam then practiced Kung Fu with uncle Tat (Ng Man-Tat) to win the woman’s heart. But uncle Tat is not a Kung Fu practitioner, he just Ang for his own gains.

5. Hail The Judge (1994)

The next film featuring Ng Man-Tat is titled Hail the Judge. Unlike most films on this list, this film tells the story of a judge who is a descendant of a famous judge Pao Lung-Sing (Stephen Chow). In this film, Ng Man-Tat is his right-hand man, Pao Yau-Wai. The film starts when Pao became a dirty judge. He has a bad reputation for taking bribes. The public hates him because of that.

But everything changed when Pao covers a murder case of the Chi Siu-Ling against corrupt officials and the legendary lawyer, Fong Tong-Kan.

6. Trouble Maker (1995)

The next film is titled Trouble Maker, released in 1995. Ng Man-Tat is the main actor named Tat alongside a young boy named Sang (Steven Hao Shao or Boboho). Tat is an old man working as a school guard. To make more money, Tat even worked at a car wash.

Besides his work, uncle Tat has other activities, visiting a blind woman who sells flowers on the pedestrian. The story gets more interesting as Sang tries to help uncle Tat win the girl’s heart.

7. Shaolin Popey (1994)

Shaolin Popey is the film that boosts the popularity of Ng Man-Tat. The film released in 1994 tells the story of a high school boy named Pi Shao Ting, who fell in love with the headmaster’s granddaughter named Annie. Ng Man-Tat played as the senior monk and caretaker of Boboho and Shi Xiaolong.

8. Shaolin Popey 2: Messy Temple (1994)

With the success of the first film, Shaolin Popey Messy Temple was released in 1994. The film focused more on the three monks, Ng Man-Tat, Shi Xiaolong, and Boboho. The story began with a mysterious woman named Jinx who tried to steal Wu Tang’s magic palm. Two assassins were sent to steal the palm.

But the assassins failed because the Shaolin temple got Boboho and the young warrior who prepared many tricks.

9. Shaolin Soccer (2001)

The next film is Shaolin Soccer. In this film, Ng Man-Tat returns to act with other Chinese actors. Ng Man-Tat played Fung. a Kung Fu soccer team coach full of alumni of Shaolin Kung Fu school.

Fung was known as “Golden Leg” during his heyday. But was crippled by someone who betrayed him and became a coach of a football team with a dark school. Knowing this, Fung wanted to get his revenge by training the Kung Fu soccer team.

10. Oolong Courtyard: Kung Fu School (2018)

Oolong Courtyard: Kung Fu School is the last film starring Ng Man-Tat. This film is a remake of Shaolin Popeye. The film no longer focused on Boboho and Shi Xialong. They are an adult now so the film introduced two new characters. In the film, Ng Man-Tat played Chang Mei Shi Fu, the leader of the Shaolin temple.
