1. Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire Of The Rift
This game is a sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) which is also worth playing. Although it’s not as popular as the previous installment, this game presents gameplay that may be more epic. There is no doubt that Grimoire Of The Rift has one of the best combat systems among other tactical games.

Rune Factory has very similar gameplay to Harvest Moon series with dungeon exploring adventures. You can also plant various plants to make a profit. Rune Factory 3 gives you the freedom to set your schedule. When you are tired of gardening, you can defeat monsters in the dungeon to find other items as you wish.
3. Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light is a prequel to Bravely Default by Square Enix and released in Japan in 2009. This turn-based battle game tells the story of four young men who go on an adventure to save their hometown from a curse.
This game has a high difficulty level, making it tough to beat, and this presents a challenge for RPG fans.
4. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Starting from the first installment, Shin Megami Tensei is a game that JRPG fans can always enjoy. This time, the game doesn’t revolve in Japan, but at a place very far away. If Devil Survivor is more like a tactical RPG, then Strange Journey presents gameplay similar to the original Shin Megami Tensei series.

7. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
This game is the successor to Super Mario RPG (1996). This Mario game comes with a unique story, where Mario and Luigi go inside Bowser's body to investigate something. There are many surprises that you might not expect while playing the game. Uniquely, you can also play as Bowser as a playable character.
8. Radiant Historia
Radiant Historia is a JRPG developed by Atlus and Headlock for the Nintendo DS. This game comes with a turn-based battle system and was released in Japan in 2010 by Atlus, and in North America in 2011 by the subsidiary, Atlus USA.
Set in a world ravaged by conflict and on the verge of destruction due to a pandemic. The protagonist of this game, Stock, travels in time to save his world from destruction. The choices chosen by Stock are very important because it will lead to a different ending, so careful with your decisions.
9. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinel Of The Starry Skies
Dragon Quest is a classic JRPG series that is still ongoing to this day, and one title available on the NDS is Dragon Quest IX. 10. The World Ends With You
Square Enix released The World Ends With You back in 2007, a game that, even though ported to other platforms, it’s still best to be played on the Nintendo DS. The game offers an epic JRPG-style soundtrack and gameplay that reflects the personality of the Shibuya district.
