Game-themed anime is awesome when you are looking for an anime that has a concept and mechanism of a game in it. Usually, this type of anime is not far from the term isekai or where the main character is OP.

1. Sword Art Online
Who has never heard of SAO? Yup the series Sword Art Online is a valid example of a game-themed anime and isekai, and the main reason why the genre became popular. The concept of MMORPG full-dive virtual world seems to be more real as we see the development of virtual reality.
Sword Art Online got a lot of series. You can start by watching the first season to SAO Alicization.
2. Log Horizon
At a glimpse, Log Horizon may seem similar to SAO, where the characters are trapped inside an MMORPG game. But Log Horizon exceeded the viewer’s expectation. The main character surprises everyone with his brilliant in-game knowledge that helps him devise a plan and many more - making Log Horizon more realistic and relatable yet still a work of fiction.
3. Net-juu no Susume
This is a Slice of Live anime, about a 30 years old woman named Moriko Morioka that turns into a NEET after she got fired from her job.
Morioka spends her unemployment time to play online games playing as a male character named Hayashi. Morioka failed the first quest multiple times until she met a female character named Lily, played by a man named Yuuta Sakurai. Lily then takes Hayashi on an adventure until love starts to bloom between the two characters.
4. Accel World
Accel World is said to exist in the same world as Sword Art Online but from a different timeline. Accel World itself is an anime that only a few knows. To enter the game, the player has to install a mysterious program called Brain burst to their Neuro Linker.
Turns out Brain Burst enhances thought process by 1000 times but it comes with a dangerous side effect. Haruyuki Arita’s world is forever changed after Kuroyukihime gave him Brain Burst and took him into Accel World.
5. Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta?
This anime with a long title is about Hideki Nishimura, a boy who is traumatized after finding out that his in-game girlfriend is a man older than him in real life. Hideki that rejects the idea that a girl will play an online game.
2 years passes and a girl asks Hideki to marry her in a game and it turns out that she is indeed a beautiful girl in real life named Ako Tamaki. Aki has a hard time separating her game and reality, and she finds it hard to communicate with others.
6. Overlord
This is a game-themed and isekai anime that successfully combines two different elements, comedy and dark; because we see the internal conflict of Ainz Ooal Gown and also he became the ruthless demon king for his opponent.
7. Btooom!
Initially, Btooom is a battle royale game where bombs are the main weapon.
One day, the top ranked players are kidnapped and moved into an island. There the players are forced to play the game in real life. The only difference is that they are now using their body. Their only purpose is to survive and nothing else.
8. Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu
This anime is about a legendary player of an MMORPG game called Cross Revirie. His name is Takuma Sakamoto and he is called the Demon king because of his strength. One day, Takuma finds himself waking up in a world identical to Cross Revirie and he looks just like his character.
9. No Game No Life
No Game No Life got a plot that is hard to predict, eccentric animation, cool background music, and a detailed character development. You are going to be amazed after watching the first episode.
Sora and Shiro are hikikomori siblings. They are taken by god Tet to live in a world where the rules are decided by a game. Becoming the leader of humanity, Sora uses his ability and cunning mind to make strategy while Shiro use her calculation and logic to beat the leaders of other races. There’s only one goal, make humanity stood at the top of civilization.
10. Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku
The game-themed anime is your typical isekai anime. The main character is overpowered right from the get to, got a harem from multiple races, and live in a magical fantasy world. But this generic isekai concept is what the fans love.
Death March got a unique plot and the pacing is not too slow. The main character, Satou, is great at strategies, looking at profit and loss of his actions, and he can keep calm despite him roaming the world with his harem.
