1. Lucy vs Minerva (Fairy Tail)

The first underwater fight on this list is Lucy versus Minerva. In the Grand Magic Games, Lucy from Fairy Tail must face Minerva from Sabertooth. Even though Minerva came from Sabertooth which is the number 1 guild, Lucy still won't give up on her.

Lucy said that Fairy Tail will return to being the number 1 guild. An angry Minerva then stole Lucy's spirit key and attacked her completely. In the Naval Battle, they fought underwater. Whoever ran out of breath first can be killed.

2. Noelle vs Kivn (Black Clover)

In the Elf Reincarnation arc in Black Clover, Clover Kingdom was attacked by elves who possessed the kingdom's magicians, including the Golden Dawn squad. Noelle's sisters Solid and Nebra had to face off against Kivn with compass magic. They lost and were badly injured.

Noelle who wanted to protect her brother, decided to fight. To counter Kivn's powerful magic, Noelle used her water magic to fill a room with water. Assisted by Nozel, Noelle was able to defeat Kivn.

3. Zoro vs Hordy (One Piece)

In Fishman Island, Hordy Jones attempted to destroy the Ryugu Kingdom. Luffy and friends who happened to be in the place, must go to New World to stop Hordy's ambition. Ryugu Kingdom is under the sea so if you fight outside the palace, then it's the same as fighting underwater.

Zoro decides to fight Hordy. Despite fighting a fish-man, Zoro, a human, could inflict damage on Hordy. Zoro's ability to hold his breath underwater is indeed extraordinary.

4. Class 1-A Students vs A Shark Villain (My Hero Academia)

At the end of the first season, Shigaraki came to invade the U.A with a bunch of villains. One of them has a quirk that can turn into a shark. 5. Gray vs Ultear (Fairy Tail)

Ultear is the daughter of Gray's teacher, Ul. Initially, this fight took place on land until Gray and Ultear clashed ice magic so they fall into the water. The two then fought in the water until Ultear heard a sound that caught her off guard. It’s her mother's voice, Ul, asking for help.

Ultear who realized her mistake, couldn't continue the fight until Gray managed to defeat her. Ultear chose to lose because she felt that was what her mother wanted. If it were a serious fight, Gray wouldn't be able to defeat Ultear with her dangerous magic.

6. Black Bull vs Vetto (Black Clover)

Even though this battle wasn't actually in the water, it took place in the Underwater Temple which is located in the sea. After Asta and the others finish the game given by the chief priest of the temple, Vetto appeared then attacked the Black Bull Members.

Asta, assisted by Vanessa and Finral, was able to defeat Vetto. But their fight wasn’t over yet because Vetto was getting stronger. Fortunately, Yami managed to stop him by slashing at Vetto.

7. Sally vs A Dungeon Boss (Bofuri)

The anime titled Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense tells the story of exploring dungeons and fighting monsters. Upon her arrival at the underwater cave, Sally had to deal with a giant fish that served as a dungeon boss. Sally had to beat it in 20 minutes or she would be out of breath.

8. Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji vs Kraken (One Piece)

On their way to Ryugu Kingdom on Fishman Island, the Straw Hat crew encountered a giant octopus that attacked them. Instead of running away like most pirates, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji decided to fight it. Despite its giant size and disadvantage for fighting in the water, the three strongest Straw Hat crew were not afraid of the kraken.

Zoro and Sanji attacked its tentacles, while Luffy dealt the finishing blow with the Elephant Gun. After being defeated, the kraken decided to help Luffy. In the end, Luffy also named it Surume.
