Resident Evil Village has some secrets that not all players are aware of during their first play. What are those secrets?
Games | 22 May
Similar to the previous titles in the Resident Evil franchise, RE Village has numerous secrets and puzzles for those with keen eyes to unveil. Those puzzles and secrets will reward you with various valuables, ammo, and other collections around the village.
Since there are lots of hidden areas in Resident Evil Village, most players aren’t able to upgrade their weapons, have less money, and unable to complete their collection. So, what are the secrets in Resident Evil Village? Without further ado, let’s get into it!
1. Moreau’s Magnum
In almost every Resident Evil title, players can use the Magnum. This revolver is often rewarded to players as a reward after solving complicated puzzles as Magnum is the most powerful weapon in the game -- aside from the rocket launcher.
In RE Village, this weapon is hidden in a forgettable area, around the main area of Salvatore Moreau. After the fight, players will return to Duke, and most of them tend to be too eager to keep pushing forward as they think the ending is within sight.
As a result, they overlook the Magnum! The player has to get to the first windmill before getting to the reservoir and use the crank to unlock a new area.
After following the path and killing some enemies there, you can access Moreau’s laboratory and the Magnum.
2. Heisenberg’s Secret Wall
Once you’re in Heisenberg’s area, you can find a secret wall on the 4th floor of the factory, marked with yellow paint and a large crack. It takes a grenade to blow the wall, and you will find various mines inside.
3. Goat on the Suspension Bridge
Resident Evil has always have hidden collectibles. In Resident Evil Village, the collectibles are goats of warding. Their small size and dull color make them hard to spot for players.
One of the hardest goats you can find in this game is the one on the suspension bridge leading to Beneviento. You have to look on your left and you’ll see a goat in the middle of the bridge.
4. Heisenberg’s Hammer
Heisenberg’s Hammer is one of the valuables that you can sell to Duke. This hammer isn’t that easy to find since it’s separated into two parts. The first part is on the 4th floor of the factory. Once you’ve had the key mold and make the Heisenberg’s Key, you need to go to Heisenberg’s residence and open the door using that key -- and you’ll find the second part.
You can sell Heisenberg’s Hammer for 45,000 Lei.
5. Finest Fish
Resident Evil Village has hunting and cooking features. And the rarest ingredient is the Finest Fish. To find the fish, you need to lower the bridge at the northern part of Duke and the Altar area. To lower the bridge, you need to defeat Moreau and get the crank.
After that, get to the boat on the river and take it to the left area of the river to fish the Finest Fish.

6. The Origins of Mold
For players who are curious about the origins of the Mold, you can get across to the Finest Fish location using the boat. You’ll learn about the infection of the village, and how Mother Miranda used the fungus and Cadou parasite.
7. An Orange Box from Resident Evil 7
For those who’ve played Resident Evil 7, chances are, you’re already familiar with the orange boxes scattered around Baker Estate, which contain various items, and sometimes, maggots.
It turns out that the orange boxes make a return in Resident Evil Village. You can find them in Donna Beneviento’s place. There’s a surgery room with a locker for you to hide. In that room, on one of the shelves, you can find an orange box. Players who’ve played Resident Evil 7 must be able to spot it.
8. Heisenberg’s Notes
When you’re in the big room filled with piles of metals, you can see Heisenberg’s notes behind the large orange curtain. You can crouch down to see the board before Heisenberg’s cutscene.
On the board, players can see pictures of Mia, Chris, Rose, and the other Lords with an X over them. Interestingly, there’s no X over the picture of Mia, indicating that Heisenberg knows that Mia Winters didn’t die.
9. “Fast Reflexes” Achievement
Resident Evil Village has a myriad of achievements that you can unlock. There’s an achievement that you can unlock by swatting the arrow shot by the Lycans. Only 3.8% of the players on Steam managed to unlock this.
10. Unearthing Beneviento’s Grave
Each Lord has their own treasure. Most of them are hidden in certain ways, but Donna Beneviento’s treasure requires extra effort and a meticulous search. You can find Beneviento’s grave with a broken gravestone. It’s split into two parts, requiring you to use the slab (a key item).
This key item can’t be found in Beneviento’s place, but near the graveyard at the start of the game. You need to look for a large graveyard with an iron gate. This graveyard isn’t marked on the map, but it’s accessible.
