In most games, the more stars you see in a weapon or the higher the rarity, that usually means that that weapon is powerful. Genshin Impact is like that, but there are times when lower grade weapons are more powerful than a higher grade weapon -- like these 3-star weapons.

If you are a beginner, then you will find a bunch of 3-star weapons in Genshin Impact, or players usually call it as a dupe, but don’t try to use it material to upgrade another weapon! With the refine feature, these dupes can be refined to raise its rank for bigger bonuses. If your 3-star weapon reaches Refine +5, then a 4-star weapon with Refine +1 is no match for them.

Harbinger of Dawn

Harbinger of Dawn’s bonus grant CRIT rate increase by 28% when the user’s HP is above 90% at Refine +5. The sword is in sync with the status that increases CRIT DMG.

If you got a healer like Barbara on your team, then your characters are guaranteed to have their HP above90% at all times, meaning the bonus of Harbinger of Dawn is always active.

Cool Steel

Cool Steel grants additional damage by 24% at Refine +5 when hitting an enemy inflicted by Hydro or Cryo.

This is the best weapon to equip when you got Hydro and/or Cryo in your team. Make sure to switch out members as often to maximize your damage.

Bow

Slingshot

Slingshot is the best 3-star bow. The bonus of this weapon gives 60% bonus damage at Refine +5! But you have to hit your opponent within 0,3 sec. If not, your damage is decreased by 10% 

Meaning you have to always engage at close range battle when using Slingshot to keep the bonus active.

Raven Bow

Raven Bow grants 24% bonus DMG at Refine +5 too enemies inflicted by Hydro or Pyro.

This is the best weapon to equip when you got characters with Hydro or Pyro element.

Polearm

Black Tassel

Black Tassel is a powerful weapon against slime monster. At Refine +5, Black Tassel grants bonus DMG by 90% to slime monsters.

Knowing that you always meet slime in field and dungeon, the weapon is definitely worth upgrading.

White Tassel

Collecting White Tassel may be quite a chore since it’s obtainable only from treasure chests. But its ability makes it worth going through all kinds of trouble.

White Tassel grants additional DMG to your Normal Attack by 48% at Refine +5. The skill is always active as long as you keep on spamming normal attacks.

Claymore

Debate Club

It looks like a club, but it’s actually a Claymore. You can talk smack about its look but not with its ability.

Debate Club grants 120% ATK DMG (Refine +5) after hitting your opponents with Elemental Skill, Normal or Charge Attack. The effect is active for 15s and the bonus damage will appear every 3s. Meaning, the buff is always on.

Bloodtainted Greatsword

Bloodtainted Greatsword grants 24% DMG at Refine +5 to enemies with Pyro or Electro status.

Pyro and Electro are the two elements that have to be active at all time since it deals the biggest damage. Combining the element with Bloodtainted Greatsword will allow you to deal enormous damage.

Catalyst

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayer

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayer is a weapon made for the support role. The effect of this Catalyst is granting bonus ATK by 48% at Refine +5 to the next character you switched to at the first 10s. The effect is active every 20s.

This means your DPS will get an ATK buff when being subbed in after a support character that uses Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayer

This Catalyst adds 24% DMG at Refine +5 to opponents inflicted by Hydro or Electro.

This is a great Catalyst to equip when you get hydro or Electro characters in your lineup.
