Impel Down is the most dangerous prison in the world of One Piece. If sentenced to this prison, prisoners will spend the rest of their lives in this joint. It is not easy to escape from Impel Down because of the many threats that await the prisoners, but not for some. Here are the strongest prisoners in Impel Down in the history of One Piece!

1. Morley

Morley is a giant okama who leads the Revolutionary Army in the West. Morley ate the Oshi Oshi no Mi that allows him to push various objects. With this ability, Morley can also hide on the ground and attack opponents by pushing the ground towards them.

100 years prior to the story, Morley was a pirate prisoner in Impel Down. Somehow, he was able to escape from Impel Down, and made the 5.5th floor occupied by Ivankov and the other okamas. As a giant, Morley has a much stronger physique than humans and a longer life.

2. Crocodile

Crocodile is a former Shichibukai who once tried to conquer the Kingdom of Arabasta. His status as a Shichibukai was removed and later thrown into Impel Down. Knowing Shirohige would come to Marineford, Crocodile invited Luffy to work together to escape from Impel Down.

Luffy worked with him until he arrived at Marineford. Crocodile intended to kill Shirohige but failed. After the war ended, he went to the New World with Mr.1.

3. Portgas D. Ace

Ace was also one of the strongest prisoners in Impel Down. He was arrested after collapsing fighting against Teach. His identity as the son of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger made Ace sentenced to death, but his comrades did not let Ace be killed by the Marines, including Luffy. He became the catalyst for the Marineford war.

Luffy managed to free Ace's handcuffs, but he died at the hands of Akainu after protecting Luffy from his magma fist.

4. Emporio Ivankov

Ivankov is the queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom who is also one of the commanders of the Revolutionary Army. Ivankov could escape if he wanted to, but he preferred to stay on the 5.5th floor in Impel Down until the time to escape was right.

After learning that Luffy is Dragon's son, Ivankov decided to help him free Ace at Marineford. That's when they escaped together and freed several other prisoners to work with.

5. Jinbei

Jinbei is the second captain of the Sun Pirates after Fisher Tiger. He was also a Shichibukai. For rejecting the World Government's call to fight Shirohige, Jinbei was imprisoned in Impel Down. Out of a desire to save Ace, Jinbei escaped from Impel Down and helped Luffy.

6. Catarina Devon

Catarina Devon is one of the 10 pirates who becomes the Commander under Marshall D. Teach. Not much is known about her, what is clear is that she is one of the most dangerous female pirates. She was proven strong when she managed to survive in the Battle Royale battle on the 6th floor of Impel Down.

Devon mastered the Mythical Zoan Inu Inu no Mi Model: Kyuubi no Kitsune devil fruit. This gives her a very dangerous ability, namely being able to transform into whoever she wants. Even though she was a prisoner of Impel Down, it has never been told that she lost once.

7. Shiryu

Shiryu is a former Impel Down warden who was imprisoned for killing prisoners too often. After being freed by Teach, Shiryu becomes the captain of the Blackbeard Pirates' Second Division. Although many say that Shiryu is equal to Magellan, Magellan is actually quite afraid of him.

10. Shiki

Shiki is the captain of the Golden Lion Pirates who was active during the Roger era. We could say he was one of the strongest pirates at that time, equal to Sengoku, Garp, Roger, and Shirohige. Shiki is known as the first pirate who managed to escape from Impel Down. He fled after cutting off both his legs.
