In Dragon Ball Z, Saiyan is a fighter alien race who can transform into Super Saiya. Anime and Dragon Ball fans surely remember Super Saiyan transformation; but do you know every variation of the transformation?

Starting from yellow, red, rose pink, to blue. Here is the list of Super Saiyan transformations that appeared in the Dragon Ball series!

15. Ozaru

This transformation can be done by all Saiyan race as long as they have a tail. By absorbing 17.000.000 Zeno units of Blutz Wave that emitted by the moonlight on their eyes, they can transform into a great ape.

Even though they look like they’re losing their mind, but Krillin suspects that this nature comes because Saiya regains a part of their battle instincts. This form can be controlled with a massive training.

14. Pseudo Super Saiyan

Also called as Giji Super Saiyajin, this transformation comes when a Saiyan almost receive a total loss. Their body will emit an orange aura, their eyes go white, and receives an additional power when enraged. Pseudo Super Saiya appears in Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug.

13. Super Saiyan

The most iconic transformation in the course of Dragon Ball. Not only improving the basic power of a Saiyan up to 50 times stronger, but their hair will also turn yellow, spikier, and stands upwards. Usually, this transformation happens because of unbridled rage. 

12. Super Saiyan Grade 2 and 3

By training during the Super Saiyan state, they can harness their skill to become Super Saiya Grade 2 and 3 (not to be confused with Super Saiya 2 and 3). Their power and muscle mass will significantly increase but the only letdown is this form will affect their agility and too much energy-consuming.

11. Super Saiyan Full Power

When successfully mastered the basic Super Saiyan form, a Saiyan can enter the Full Power state; allows them to stay in this form for an unknown duration -- or even forever -- because of their calmer mind. It increases power up to 50 times stronger and can be upgraded with training.

10. Super Saiyan 2

The next stage of Super Saiyan, doubling one’s base attack up to 100 times. It is achievable after intense training and continuous anger.

9. Super Saiyan 3

The transformation that increases the power up to 400 times. It can be achieved when they can enter the Super Saiyan 2 first. But, because of this form that famous with its long hair, its purpose is to increase ki energy power, the usage is more energy- consuming than Super Saiyan 2.

According to Akira Toriyama during an interview with Saikyo Jump, June 2014, mastering Super Saiya Full Power while keep training can make one stronger than Super Saiya 2 and 3 as well as conserve more energy.

8. Super Saiyan Rage

Also known as Super Saiyajin Ikari. Not only making eyes white, but the user’s body will also emit blue and yellow aura. Trunks managed to enter this form when he’s angry towards Zamasu and Goku Black after said Trunks’ time traveling as the cause of the world’s destruction.

7. Super Saiyan God

A from that gained from a ritual done by six, pre hearted Saiyans or training under certain conditions with gods. Has god’s ki, the Super Saiyan God’s aura that looks like a fiery flame shows its power that 200 times stronger than Super Saiya 3.

6. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan

By combining Super Saiya Full Power energy and Super Saiya God (or god’s ki) allows them to ascend into Super Saiya God Super Saiyan -- or shorten as Super Saiya Blue by fans. It is 50 times stronger than Super Saiya God.

5. Super Saiyan Rose

The unobtainable form with usual methods because it can only be accessed by a god before turning into Super Saiya God. Via Goku’s, Zamasu finally can transform into pink-haired Super Saiyan complete with reddish aura.

4. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Evolution

The next level of the normal Super Saiya Blue with the user’s body covered in a massive blue aura with little sparks. So far, only Vegeta who have mastered it and surpassing Goku’s Ultra Instinct Goku.

3. Legendary Super Saiyan

This form can be said as the highest tier in Super Saiyan without the god’s power; according to legend, it only comes every 1.000 years and only can be accessed when the Saiyan enrages.

This transformation makes the user covered in the green aura and turning the Saiyan’s hair green. In this form, Kale can push Goku while Broly even can defeat Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiya Blue and Vegeta at the same time. The imperfect version is dubbed as Super Saiya Type-C bases on the Daizenshuu guidebook.

2. Golden Ozaru

Ozaru’s transformation in Dragon Ball GT. It occurs when Saiyan in Ozaru form turns into Super Saiyan. It is said to be 50 times stronger than Super Saiya 3.

1. Super Saiya 4

Pure-blood Saiyan who can turn into Golden Ozaru (Great Ape) and controlling the power, can turn themself into a new form:  Super Saiya 4. This transformation comes with furs akin to monkey beast is said to have power 500 times stronger than Super Saiya 3.
