David is willing to keep Laras’ secret on one condition: she has to help him get close to Dilla, Laras’ “former” best friend. Afraid of her truth being revealed, Laras pushes down her ego to make amends with Dilla. But it actually makes things much worse as the school is investigating the person behind the risque stories that has put stain on the school’s reputation. So, what will Laras do to solve her problems?

2. My Sassy Girl (2022)

This Indonesian romantic movie is an adaptation of the Korean movie of the same title. The rom-com follows a naive innocent young man named Gian and a tough girl named Sisi. Gian is a meek, gentle, and rather naive boy. He’s the complete opposite of Sisi. They first meet each other when Gian is about to visit his aunt to be introduced to a girl, yet he ends up meeting Sisi, who’s drunk at the station. Since Gian is a kind-hearted man, he takes Sisi to a hotel, so she’ll be safe. However, his action leads to an understanding. Sisi takes him as making an approach to her, and it leads to a commotion in the hotel room. 

3. The Red Point of Marriage (2022)

This movie is a remake of the popular 1996-released soap opera of the same title. The movie follows Ambar and Gilang’s complex marriage. Instead of solving their issues, Gilang starts an affair with Yuli, Ambar’s student at her ceramic workshop. Now, Ambar and Gilang start to question themselves, whether their marriage still can be salvaged.

4. Garis Waktu (2022)

This Indonesian romantic movie is an adaptation of Fiersa Besari’s novel, Garis Waktu. Garis Waktu follows a small-time musician who lives alone named Sena. One day, he meets the daughter of a prosperous family named April. Sena falls in love with April, and tries to have a relationship with her. Yet her parents refuse to give their relationship a blessing. When Sena and April’s relationship is in jeopardy, Sena meets Sanya, someone who can help Sena become a successful musician. Now, Sena has to make a decision with two difficult choices, April or Sanya.

5. Crazy, Stupid, Love (2022)

Their encounter leaves a great impression on Surya. Surya is even able to get rid of his bad habits, and all thanks to Asti. However, despite all the positives Asti brings for Surya, they don’t get blessings from both of their families. So, where will their relationship brings them? Will they be able to win their parents’ approval of their relationship?

6. Until Tomorrow (2022)

This Indonesian romantic movie has a moving story. It begins with Haka and Sarah, a couple who are planning on their marriage. Ahead of their marriage, Sarah is diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. However, due to his love for her, Haka still plans on marrying Sarah. He accompanies Sarah in her journey. This movie is inspired by a true event of a Southeast Sulawesi man, Alan Tito, who became a widow 3 hours after marrying the love of his life Daslina Sombi.

7. 12 Cerita Glen Anggara (2022)

This movie is a spin-off of Mariposa (2020). The Indonesian teenage romantic movie follows Iqbal’s best friend, Glen Anggara and Shena. Glen, who came from an affluent family and loves freedom, always does whatever he pleases. That is until one day, Shena comes to his life. The girl who has been giving Glen a bad impression. Out of the blue, Shena asks Glen to be her boyfriend. Glen initially refuses, but he begins to feel uncertain once he stumbles upon Shena’s wishlist. 

8. Bukan Cinderella (2022)

This romance drama is an adaptation of Dheti Azmi’s novel of the same title. The story follows a high school student named Amora, who’s determined to achieve her dream of buying her dream shoes. Just like the story of Cinderella, this film follows one of Amora’s shoes that ends up getting swapped by another person. You’ll follow Amora on her journey finding the other pair of her shoes. Amora ends up meeting with the head of the student council named Adam Wijaya, who’s known for being arrogant.

9. Merindu Cahaya de Amstel (2022)

This film is an adaptation of Arumi E’s novel. It follows the story of a young Dutch woman who converts to Islam, named Khadija Veenhoven – formerly Marien Veenhoven. Nicholas, a journalist/photographer, finds himself attracted to Khadija as she reminds him of his mother. Nicholas takes some photographs at Museumplein, and accidentally captures a young woman wearing hijab who, according to him, has a certain glow. Nicholas and Khadija start to get to know each other better since then, and Nicholas develops an admiration towards Khadija. However, he seems unable to take their relationship to a more serious stage as he’s an agnostic.

10. Cinta Subuh (2022)

An adaptation of Ali Farighi’s novel, and it’s directed by Indra Gunawan. The movie follows Angga, a college student who rarely prays on time. He falls in love with Ratih, a smart and religious student. Because of Angga’s quirkiness, sincerity, and demeanors, Ratih is willing to open her heart for him. Before meeting Angga, Ratih actually dreamed of having a partner who’s virtuous, intelligent, and religious. Arya Satria Negara has all of those qualities, and he secretly has feelings for Ratih. Unlike Angga, Arya is a man of faith who upholds the values of his religion. So, how will Ratih venture through this love triangle?

11. Before I Met You (2022)

Starring Adhisty Zara, ths movie follows Gadis, a recently transferred student. At the new school, she meets Bara, the school’s playboy. Gadis gets Bara’s attention as soon as she arrives at the school for the first time. However, Gadis gets uncomfortable with Bara’s behaviors as he reminds her of her trauma, which began with her parents’ divorce due to an affair.
