After FIFA 21 has shown its gameplay trailer yesterday, now it’s the turn for the popular basketball video game, NBA 2K21, to release its first gameplay trailer. Released on Friday (7/8), the trailer gives a little bit of the new things that will feature in the most popular basketball video game series.

In the 1.5-minute video, you can see the NBA 2K21 cover athletes, Damian Lillard and Zion Williamson on the court. Don’t forget the legend, Kobe Bryant, who also features as a tip of the hat from 2K to the man who sadly had to leave us earlier this year.

Although it’s titled as a gameplay trailer, unfortunately, the video doesn’t showcase much of the new gameplay coming to NBA 2K21. The major gameplay-related thing that we can take from this trailer is the change in the shoot meter mechanism, which looks different compared to the ones we see in NBA 2K20.

EA explained that this trailer is a special trailer of NBA 2K21, which will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, EA has confirmed that the game will also be released for the next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This might be a hint that NBA 2K21 on PS4 will have a different gameplay than the PS5 version.

In the last couple of years, 2K has been criticized by the fans, as the developer is deemed to be recycling the same NBA 2K games each year without any significant improvement. Let’s just see if 2K did listen to what the fans had to say with the arrival of NBA 2K21.
