Week 1 of the MPL ID Season 7 has ended. Throughout the first week, some teams have stolen the spotlight with their surprising performances. In Week 1, Alter Ego and Bigetron Alpha top the current standings after bagging two wins each.

1. Alter Ego

Alter Ego is the only team to have grabbed two clean sweeps from the two matches they’ve played. In Week 1, Alter Ego displayed a series of convincing performances, especially Udil, who was crowned as the MVP.

It wasn’t just Udil who was in great form, all of the players displayed amazing performances as they crushed RRQ Hoshi and Geek Fam with a perfect score, 2-0 each.

2. Geek Fam

Another team that showed glimpses of quality in the MPL ID Season 7 Week 1 is Geek Fam. Although Geek Fam is still yet to bag a win, they had a series of promising performances -- proving their worth to compete against the big teams like Alter Ego and RRQ Hoshi.

"Frankly, Geek Fam is a strong team, you could say that they are like the old Alter Ego. So, yes they still have flaws. They’re pretty much like us, but we’re still a step ahead of them," said AE Ahmad when asked about his take on Geek Fam.

"So far, (I believe) they (Geek Fam) can if they’re able to improve their game and overcome their shortcomings. I’m sure. They’re good,” he added.

3. Bigetron Alpha

Bigetron Alpha is currently in the big two of the MPL ID Season 7 standings. Bigetron Alpha is also one of the teams with the least changes to their rosters.

According to Branz, the chemistry among Bigetron Alpha players only gets stronger since there’s no new player.

"Our chemistry is stronger now, since there were only a few players leaving, but no new player added to the roster. So, we’ve been together for one season now, spent time together at the GH (gaming house), our chemistry grew stronger," said Branz.

4. ONIC Esports

One of ONIC Esports' highlights in the MPL ID Season 7 Week 1 was where they made a surprise by picking Kimmy -- although they ended up losing that game.

The match between ONIC Esports and Genflix Aerowolf was an intense one since both teams played really well. Up until the last minutes, the audience kept guessing which team would win, as they looked evenly matched.
