The Straw Hats in One Piece are united by the power of nakama (friendship). The members of this group also have their respect for Luffy and will defend their captain if the situation demands. Some are even willing to trade their lives with Luffy, as shown by Zoro and Sanji when they met Kuma for the first time.

However, some Straw Hat members have fought Luffy. Someone faced Luffy before they joined. Some fight Luffy after they have joined the crew for a long time, for various reasons. Who are they? Take a look at the discussion below!

1. Luffy Fought Zoro at Whiskey Peak Due to Misunderstanding

Unlike the other examples on this list, this conflict was purely due to Luffy's fault. Zoro had helped clean up the Baroque Works agents who were about to take down the Straw Hats. But Luffy, unaware of it, although Zoro attacked the townspeople for no reason. The two of them had a thrilling fight.

Fortunately, this balanced battle between the Gomu Gomu no Mi techniques and Santoryu's swordsmanship ended without leaving any heartache and serious injuries. Nami managed to stop the fight and explained the situation, after beating both Zoro and Luffy at the same time.

Zoro himself is the Straw Hat's most loyal member. Sometimes he had to reprimand Luffy, like when Luffy wanted to easily accept Usopp who left the group. But he really will fight to make sure his captain becomes the Pirate King, even though he had to sacrifice his life and dreams.

2. Usopp Fought Luffy for Merry

This is also one of the most painful moments in One Piece. Usopp, deeply attached to the ship, Going Merry, decided to confront Luffy due to disagreements over the ship's fate.

Several factors made Usopp act so reckless. First: Merry is a ship from his island, given to him by Kaya. His ties to this ship are arguably greater than that of the rest of the crew.

Second: back then, Usopp had just been beaten up by the Franky Family. He realized that he was weak. So Usopp was afraid that someday he would be thrown out by the Straw Hats because of this, like Merry who was forced to be abandoned for the damage.

The battle went quite sadly. Usopp used all his tricks to injure Luffy. But in the end, it seemed that all Usopp had done was not enough to overthrow his captain.

3. Franky Fought Luffy, Before Joining

Franky fought Luffy before he joined the Straw Hats. The Franky family was the party who gave Merry heavy damage. The ship had previously suffered serious damage since Skypiea, but it was the damage from the attack in the end that ensured Merry needed to be replaced.

Luffy took revenge on the Franky Family. Then Franky, the boss, went straight against Luffy himself. Their battle then became even more chaotic as soon as Galley-La joined in. But since knowing what some of the Iceberg employees were doing as CP9 members, Franky decided to help Luffy and friends.

4. Jinbei Once Fought Luffy

Jinbei declared himself joining the Straw Hats at Whole Cake Island. So far, he's been the helmsman of Sunny Go. But in One Piece episode 549, long before Jinbei joined, he had a fistfight with Luffy to determine which of them deserves to fight Hody.

Sanji and Robin then intervened to finish the fight. Luffy's fight is quite different from the other Straw Hats. You could say that it was just a trivial fight, in other words, it wasn't serious.

5. Sanji Attacked Luffy at Whole Cake Island

Luffy came to Whole Cake Island to save Sanji. The problem is, Sanji was forced by the Vinsmoke family to marry Pudding. If he caused any trouble, everyone he cares about will be attacked, not only by Germa but by the Big Mom family as well.

Without realizing it, Luffy, who had just fought Charlotte Cracker, tried to get Sanji back. Sanji then attacked his captain. This fight was very painful because we know why Sanji did it, but Luffy doesn't. Luckily, things ended well and Sanji returned to the Straw Hats.
