PlayStation 2 (PS2) is undoubtedly one of the most influential consoles in the video game industry as the arrival of the console during the seventh-gen era brought in a lot of innovations not only throughout its brilliant game catalogue but also the console itself, making it the best-selling console of all time.
And as previously mentioned, PS2 is stacked with thousands of brilliant games that were once some of the most played games among gamers. But now, a lot of the titles get forgotten in the memories and players almost never seem to look back at them again.
Of all the forgotten PS2 games, these five are some of the most tragically forgotten ones:
1. Sonic Gems Collection
Sonic is one of the best franchises in the video game industry thanks to their existence in multiple platforms across many generations, yet somehow people seem to forget one Sonic game on PS2 called Sonic Gems Collection.
This is a compilation game that consists of Sonic CD, Sonic the Fighter and Sonic R along with many other titles released by Sega like Vectorman. At the time, it was a highly played game due to the sheer amount of games players could play in a single DVD.
2. Rugrats Royal Ransom
After releasing a game on PS1, Rugrats made their next appearance on PS2 with Rugrats Royal Ransom, a game that lets you play the fan-favorite characters in a world called Play Palace 3000 to complete a set of challenges.
Despite being designed as a game for kids, this is quite a challenging game with more complicated levels as you progress through the game, making it a great challenge for the hardcore gamers. Though unfortunately, upon release, the game was criticized due to its poor control.
3. Disney Pixar Cars
Considering the success of the Cars movie, Disney undoubtedly released a video game adaptation of it on PS2 which pits players into the world of Cars as they drive multiple characters across the massive open world within the game.
Aside from racing, you can also travel through the map with a lot of memorable casts. Overall, this is a great video game adaptation of a movie if you’re into one.
4. Buzz Junior! Jungle Party
Buzz Junior! Jungle Party is the first title in the Buzz Junior series that brought in a couple of unique aspects with only one bizarre and obvious criticism of this game being that you are required to play it with a special Buzz controller instead of the typical DualShock controller.
But beyond that, the game offers a lot of interesting and challenging mini games that are surprisingly complicated despite being a rather simple game.
5. Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue
Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue is a rather adorable game that takes you to the world of Hello Kitty where you are tasked to pick up a pair of rollerblades and a magic wand to play through multiple levels and save your friends from the giant and evil King Block.
This game offers quite a diverse cosmetic options for the Hello Kitty character and the gameplay itself is quite challenging as you progress through the game to beat King Block. Unfortunately though, despite bearing the popular Hello Kitty brand, this game is instead forgotten in time.
