1. Released a Novel

In 2017, Goto released a novel titled Yorozu - Mousou no Minzoku Shi. The book is a collection of short stories written by Goto, that’s also a serial for a music magazine ROCKIN ON JAPAN. The novel included the conversation he had with Kotobuki Shimizu from Meiji University, talking about medieval Japan.

The novel also includes a bonus CD filled with 46 minutes of music and recording of Goto. 

2. His Look During Concert

What separates Goto from other rock band vocalist during a concert is his look. Goto wears thick-framed glasses with uncombed hair. His hair adds more charisma as a vocalist. Goto looks like a nerd when performing.

3. The Beginning of Ajikan

Goto met the rest of the band, Kensuke Kita and Takahiro Yamada, when attending a music club at Kanto Gakuin University. The three then formed Asian Kungfu Generation in 1996; the drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joined the ban after that.

4. His Role at Ajikan

Goto is not just the lead vocalist of Ajikan, he is also the songwriter and the rhythm guitar. As the songwriter, Goto played a huge part in the band’s lyrics. Goto also splits up the duty of writing music to his bandmates.

5. Solo Album

In 2010, Goto formed his own music label, Only in Dreams. Then in 2012, he starts his solo project by releasing a single under the name Gotch. In 2014, he released his debut solo album, Can’t Be Forever, and a live album titled Live in Tokyo. In 2016, he released his second solo album, Good New Times, using English on most of the lyrics.
