Before the airing of WandaVision, Marvel Studios announced actress Teyonah Parris will play adult Monica Rambeau. And in the fourth episode of WandaVison, Monica Rambeau’s identity is finally revealed. In the previous episodes, she shows up as “Geraldine” in the sitcom world made by Wanda.

Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Carol Danvers’s friend, Maria Rambeau, who appeared in the Captain Marvel film. In the series, adult Maria joins Sentient Weapon Observation Response Division (S.W.O.R.D.), an organization formed by her mother and also her workplace.

Her background is different from the Monica Rambeau in the comic book. In the Captain Marvel comic book, Monica was a police officer. Until one day she was exposed to extradimensional energy from a weapon belonging to a mad scientist. She then used her power to fight crimes. And Monica is later known as Captain Marvel.

Fans have predicted that Marvel Studios prepared a different background for Monica Rambeau in MCU leading up to her donning the Captain Marvel suit. But before we get to that point here are some facts about Monica.

Monica Rambeau has a lot of nicknames in the comic book. Some of them are Captain Marvel, Aunt Monica, Avengers Mom when she leads the Nextwave group, The Lady Light, Photon, Pulsar, Spectrum, and Sun Goddess.
