Peter Parker faces off against Mister Negative in the Spider-Man game released for PlayStation4. After appearing multiple times in the comics and cartoon, the Chinese born villain finally makes his appearance in a game. Who is Mister Negative? The real identity of Mister Negative is unclear. He claims to be Martin Li, an illegal immigrant from China that comes to the United States via a ship named Golden Mountain. Upon arriving in New York, Li s caught after his group is beaten by a mafia group named Ma Jia under the leadership of Silvio Manfredi (Silvermane).

Silvermane hands over Li to a criminal organization to become a lab rat for a new drug. Li is forced to take the drug along with other prisoners. Many of the test subjects lost their life because of the drug called delight. But the three people that survive obtained superpowers named light force and dark force.

The three individuals then escape using their newfound power. The two teenagers named Tandy Bowen and Tyrone uses their power to become a superhero under the alias Cloak and Dagger. But, when Martin Li obtains the superpower two personalities developed, Martin Li and Mister Negative. With a huge grudge, Li wants to take down the group that changes his life.

These are the abilities of Mister Negative that makes it hard for Spider-Man to take him down.

5. Manipulate Negative Energy

Mister Negative can manipulate dark energy and turn anyone he touches to become cruel and evil. When activating this power, Li’s physique looks like a negative photograph with black skin and white hair. After obtaining this power, Li builds his empire and beats Ma Jia.

Besides generating great destructive power, Li’s negative energy can also heal. This personality is known as a philanthropist.

4. Mind Control

Mister Negative can control mids. With a touch, he can ruin other’s minds and controls them. He also gives them a bit of his power to make them stronger. This way, Mister Negative builds an empire and gains many followers.

Mister Negative’s physical strength is extraordinary. In the comics, he can throw Spider-Man away and hit two buildings in one punch. In the game, Mister Negative can fling Spider-Man away with his powers. Besides his extraordinary physique, Mister Negative also has enhanced reflex, and immune. He can transform the trauma he receives into a great power. With this, he can move fast and even teleport.

2. Swordsman

As an immigrant from China, Mister Negative can do Tai Chi. During his time learning Tai Chi, he also learns swordsmanship. He excels at using a sword called Jian from China. With this ability, Mister Negative combines his swordsmanship and negative energy.

The other ability of Mister Negative is his reflex. He can read his opponent’s movements like how Peter Parker senses them with Spider-Sense. This is what troubles Peter in his fight against Mister Negative.
