During the Fishman Island arc, the Straw Hat Pirates faced their first challenge ever after the time skip. They fought New Fishman Pirates led by Hody Jones. The fight was easy for them who already trained so hard for two years.

3. Breakthrough Impel Down

Impel Down is the worst prison in One Piece for the worst and the most dangerous vigilantes. Normal people cannot escape alive after getting thrown here. Luffy who heard about Ace got incarcerated in Impel Down, immediately wanted to save him. With Hancock’s help, he managed to breakthrough Impel Down.

5. Declaring a War to the World Government

The last thing that proved Luffy is worth it to become the king of Prates is his action at Enies Lobby. To save his Nakama, Nico Robin, even Luffy didn’t hesitate to declare a war to the World Government. This was shown after Sogeking burned the CP9 flag. In the end, the Straw Hat Pirates won against CP9 even though they became hunted by the World Government.
