Roronoa Zoro is the vice captain of the Straw Hat Pirates who has the same position as Silver Rayleigh. In addition to being both vice captains, it turns out they also have many other similarities. These are the similarities between Zoro and Rayleigh that you might not notice!

1. The Same Scars

From the picture above, it appears that Rayleigh and Zoro both have scars on the eyes and chest area. Zoro has a scar on his left eye, while Rayleigh on his right eye. Then Zoro's other wound is on his left chest, while Rayleigh is on the right.

2. Drinkers

We certainly know that Zoro is a drinker. Rayleigh is actually also someone who loves to drink. This was seen when they were at Shakky's Bar. But it seems that Zoro drinks more often than Rayleigh.

3. Swordsmen

Yes, they are fellow swordsmen even though they have different styles. Zoro fought using three swords, while Rayleigh only used one sword. They also have strong Haki. The magnitude of Rayleigh's strength was demonstrated when he used Haoshoku Haki at the Human Auctioning House (Shabaody arc) which was able to knock out all enemy forces.

Rayleigh also showed his sword skills when he fought Admiral Kizaru who at that time was able to defeat almost all Supernovas. Zoro also demonstrated high-level swordsmanship when he fought against Pica in Dressrosa.

4. The First Mate

In a flashback of Rayleigh's past that was shown, suddenly Gol D. Roger who was wearing a straw hat came and invited him to sail and find One Piece. Rayleigh who was sitting relaxed laughing at Roger’s dream that sounded ridiculous.

After that Roger immediately stated that Rayleigh was the first mate in the Pirate group hat he made. Rayleigh who remembers it cries. This is similar to when Luffy recruited Zoro who was the first mate of the pirate group that he made.

At first Zoro refused to join, but stubborn Luffy was finally able to recruit him. This strengthens the evidence that Zoro is the successor to the next Vice Captain of the Pirate King after Rayleigh.

5. Not a Devil Fruit Eater

It was never explained that Rayleigh ate devil fruit. A very strong fighter like Rayleigh actually only uses a sword and Haki as his weapons. He is one of the chosen people who are able to master Haoshoku Haki. His fighting level can even match one of the three Admirals, Kizaru.

Zoro also not a Devil Fruit eater. Like Rayleigh, Zoro only fights using three blades and Haki. It is not yet clear whether Zoro is a Haoshoku Haki user or not, but in the future he will most likely be able to master it since he will be the Vice Captain of the Pirate King in the future.
