Talking about horror movies, there are many things that we can discuss. The reason is, even though it has horror vibes, horror movies present many interesting things. In addition, this genre also has a lot of fans so it is often an interesting discussion.
The author wants to invite you to discuss the sequel to the most disappointing horror movie ever made. Why? Because this horror movie comes with a quality that is not as cool as its predecessor. Curious? Let's discuss them one by one!
1. It Chapter 2
It, which was launched in 2017, was doubtful. Then the movie came out and blew up everyone's expectations. Bill Skarsgård's nightmare is so extraordinary that it strengthens this renewed vision into an era that is more modern and suitable for fans nowadays.
No wonder the hype for the sequel skyrocketed once it was announced to the public. Then the second movie was released two years later but the result was a strange and certainly disappointing story. The idea stacks up between Ritual, a love triangle, and a rather misplaced fear.
The number of ideas and lack of vision makes this movie considered a disappointment to many people, especially those who are already enthusiastic to see more powerful scenes than the first one.
2. Friday 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
This movie has a quality far below the previous Friday 13th movies! Yes, this movie has a very long story. Second, Paramount was so embarrassed by the movie that the story was taken over by New Line Cinema. Third, Jason looks really goofy instead of being creepy.
Things go bad when Jason attempts to take over Manhattan. Many people think Jason's scary figure fades in this movie. Even at the end of the movie, instead of being a more sinister figure, we are actually confronted by a Jason figure who is more strange than the beginning.
3. The Lost Boys: The Tribe
1987's The Lost Boy brings a variety of interesting and legendary things that will last for years. But unfortunately in 2008, the sequel was a disappointment. Repeating elements that you liked from the first movie is not a good move, because it means the creators weren't creative enough to come up with anything new.
Even the return of Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog can't save the poor quality of this movie. Even crazier, The Tribe had a bad sequel in 2011 which got a bad rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
4. Alien 3
Ridley Scott's Alien and its sequels are undoubtedly some of the greatest horror movies ever made. The Alien franchise after these two movies becomes even more confusing where the quality is not very good. Alien 3 is an example of where this movie turns out to be very bad.
Alien 3 is said to not offer anything interesting compared to the two previous movies. This movie is like an ordinary slasher movie without anything special. Apart from that, most of the CGI is also considered bad.
5. Exorcist II: The Heretic
William Peter Blatty said that after watching this screening he couldn't hide his laughter. When a horror movie is legendary, and almost perfect, like The Exorcist, of course the sequel will be eagerly awaited.
Any hopes viewers had previously for the film, upon seeing the return of Linda Blair in her role as Reagan MacNeil, were quickly lost. Because the second movie could not compete with the first one.
There are many things that are not good in this movie, so this movie quickly received criticism from many parties.
