1. Kimihiko Kimizuka

Kimihiko Kimizuka is the main protagonist in The Detective is Already Dead. He is an 18 years old high school student who becomes Siesta's assistant after the hijacking incident four years before the main story takes place. After Siesta died, he wanted to start living a lackluster life until he received a request from Nagisa Natsunagi.

Kimihiko is an 18 years old high school boy of medium height. He has short black hair with slightly long bangs and has golden yellow eyes. Kimihiko is usually seen wearing a black suit and white shirt inside.

Kimihiko is known as the magnet for trouble and that's why he can think clearly even in the most dangerous situations.

2. Siesta

Siesta is a The Detective is Already Dead character who calls herself the Great Detective. "Siesta" is a code name, while her real name, age, and nationality are unknown. Her main weapon is a musket gun and she also has the "Seven Tools" which contain special powers. Siesta is one of the Twelve Tuners who are Great Detectives by profession.

She takes Kimihiko Kimizuka as his assistant four years before the main story takes place. Siesta is responsible for protecting the interests of her clients. She is an enigmatic character.

Siesta is a very intelligent girl and a very accomplished detective, who claims to be able to "solve cases before they even happen." She is also skilled with her rifle, as seen when she shot Bat to only sever his tentacle from his left ear when he was a few meters away from her.

Siesta's physical and athletic abilities exceed normal humans. She could easily carry Kimihiko on a run, with his assistant wondering if she was an android. Siesta was also able to dodge several of Bat's tentacle attacks and display high levels of mobility in their fights.

3. Nagisa Natsunagi

Nagisa Natsunagi is a character in The Detective is Already Dead who becomes the second main female protagonist after Siesta. She is an 18 years old high school student and is the first client to ask Kimihiko Kimizuka to become a detective again since Siesta's death, to find the person Nagisa is looking for.

Nagisa has a strong personality, but she is also a stern character who habitually says "Die Twice". When she was a child, Nagisa had a heart condition. She also had a weak body, which restricted her from going outside the house and going to school, which meant she spent most of her childhood in a hospital.

One year before meeting Kimihiko Kimizuka, Nagisa received a heart transplant from an unknown donor which was later revealed to be Siesta. She inherited one of Siesta's "Seven Tools", the rifle.

4. Yui Saikawa

Yui Saikawa is another character in The Detective is Already Dead, she is a 14 years old middle schooler. She is famous as an idol and often appears in various magazines and advertisements. To prevent the theft of her family heirloom named Miraculous Sapphire, she asks Kimihiko and Nagisa to protect her and her heirloom.

Although Yui is the youngest character in the series, she is said to be the most mature and has a strong personality. Yui is the only child of the wealthy Saikawa Family. She lost her left eye from birth, making him feel ashamed as a child. In the past, Yui's parents gave her fake sapphire eyes, which are bluer than any sea blue.

Because of her talent, Yui was very happy and became much more confident than before and she started working as an idol, which made her parents happy whenever they saw her perform on stage.

Although she had a wonderful time, unfortunately, Yui's parents died in an accident three years ago, leaving Yui with a large amount of wealth and fake sapphire eyes along with a large house she lived in.

5. Charlotte Arisaka Anderson

Charlotte Arisaka Anderson is another character in The Detective is Already Dead nicknamed "Charl". She was a hitman sent to kill Siesta, but after losing the battle to Siesta, she always addressed Siesta with the honorific "Miss Siesta" and idolized her. She is now a subordinate of Fubi Kase.

Charlotte is a 17 years old half-American and half-Japanese girl. She has long blonde hair in a braid tied back and emerald green eyes. She often wears a white dress top, a maroon skirt, short white socks, black shoes, and a turquoise brooch necklace.

6. Fubi Kase

Fubi Kase is a supporting character in The Detective is Already Dead who works as a policewoman. Fubi has red hair and golden eyes. She always wore police detective clothes.

Because Kimihiko is a magnet for problems wherever and whenever the man is, Fubi sometimes becomes suspicious of Kimihiko.
