Here Are the 66 Esports Athletes Selected to Represent Indonesia at the 2021 SEA Games

It’s official! Here are the 66 selected esports athletes that will represent Indonesia at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi.

Stage 1 of the Indonesian Esports National Training (Pelatnas) for the 2021 SEA Games has officially ended. A total of 128 athletes from 10 esports games have participated in the National Training, which took place from 1–10 March 2022. From 128 athletes, 66 of them have been selected to represent the country at the 2021 SEA Games, which will take place from 12–23 May 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The athletes who participated in Stage 1 of the National Training have undergone a series of intensive training led by coaches from respective games. The training program covered various aspects: technical, physical, psychological, mental, strategy, analyses, and nutrition. 

Richard Permana, the Head Coach of the National Esports Teams for the 2021 SEA Games, expressed his gratitude for Stage 1 of the National Training. “The highest appreciation for all the dedication and commitment that have been given by the athletes and team owners. So many positive things for the athletes to learn and experience that can help them in the future.

Richard also told the athletes, “Stage 1 of the National Training has been a success. The athletes have shown their best effort and participated in the entire training program led by selected coaches. We believe that these athletes will continue to move forward with new passion after returning from Stage 1. Keep learning, keep growing, gain more experience until one day you make achievements for our country, Indonesia.

Stage 2 of the National Training will take place from 17 April to 9 May 2022

Stage 2 will focus on renewable programs and on increasing exercises and a stricter diet for the athletes. Some games with official leagues will also continue to be the benchmark while preparations are underway. They have 45 days to prepare for winning medals,“ Richard concluded.
