1. Nemesis Comes From a Myth

Nemesis is created to continue the mission of Umbrella Corp. but do you know that the name Nemesis comes from a Greek goddess myth? The goddess’s name is Rhamnousia or Rhamnusia. The name literally means Nemesis -- and uses by Capcom to name one of the tyrants in Resident Evil.

2. Nemesis Can Only Say One Word

Behind Nemesis’s scary appearance, it was human mutated into a horrifying creature. It can still do things a human can do, like speaking. But Nemesis has limitations in speaking, it can only say “STARS,” because Umbrella Corp ordered Nemesis to kill all members of STARS.

4. Nemesis is Made in Paris

Initially, Nemesis was developed as a Resident Evil 2 character. Then Capcom feels that it’s too early to introduce Nemesis in the game, so Capcom decided to replace Nemesis with Mr. X as a less scary Tyrant.

5. Almost Appear in Resident Evil 2

As one of Capcom’s iconic characters, Nemesis also appears in other games besides the Resident Evil franchise. Nemesis appears as the enemy of Chris Redfield and Mike Haggar, and also a playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

6. Appear in Other Games

Nemesis is one of the smartest Tyrant created by Umbrella Corp, however, the creature loses its intelligence the more it mutates. Upon mutating, Nemesis becomes stronger and also has a higher urge to kill.
