Although they live a normal life, Marvel also created several characters that are closely tied to folklore and legends. One of them is Thor, his family and people came from Nordic mythology. Marvel also created characters with vampiric abilities, the legendary creature from Europe.

1. Xarus

Xarus is a direct descendant of Dracula. As the son of the vampire race leader, he felt that his father is playing favorite, especially to his clam member. Xarus felt alienated because he had to avoid humans. While humans can invade the vampire nation as they want.

After gathering the clan member, Xarus formed a group called Mystikos. The group’s plan is to turn all humans into a vampire. Until finally they caught Jubille and turns her into a Vampire in hopes that she will help them fight humanity and Avengers.

2. Spitfire

Spitfire or Jacqueline Flasworth Crichton is a mutant with an ability to manipulate fire. She obtained her power after getting a blood transfusion with Johny Storm, Human Torch from Fantastic Four. Johny’s blood in Jacqueline’s body makes her have identical powers to him. Johny did this to save her from a Vampire’s bite. She survived and became a half-mutant and half-vampire. She then used an alias, Spitfire, and became a superhero in England.

3. Selene

Selene is one of the mutants that appear in X-Men New Mutants. The woman was born 17.000 years ago in Middle Europe. Selene is said to be born not too long after Atlantis sunk to the bottom of the ocean.

According to history, the clan leader ordered a lot of human sacrifices when Selene was born. At that time, no one knows that Selene is a mutant that can drain other’s life and add it to her own.

4. Morbius

Morbius The Living Vampire is in fact someone who is unfortunate. One of Spider-Man’s villains is a genius with a genetic disorder.

He started experimenting on his body to cure his body, and Morbius accidentally transforms into a vampire with superpowers but required to consume blood.

5. Dracula

Dracula is a Marvel character inspired by a novel character, Count Dracula; the first vampire in the world. The Marvel version first appeared in a comic book titled The Tomb of Dracula. Dracula then gets into a conflict with the X-Men. But in one of the comics, Dracula fights one of X-Men enemy, Apocalypse.

Dracula has a lot of unique abilities. Besides regeneration and super strength, he has magical abilities such as telekinesis to weather manipulation. 

6. Jubilee

Jubilee was initially a regular X-Men member with the ability to manipulate light. Jubilation Lee was then turned into a vampire when Dracula’s son, Xarus, attacks humanity.

Xarus transforms Jubilee into a vampire because of her connection with Wolverine. After transforming, she lives as a vampire for years.

7. Blade

Blade is a half-human and half-vampire. Because of that he has vampiric abilities yet can still walk under the sun and immune to other vampire weaknesses. His physical strength also exceeds a normal human.

In the comic book, Blade or Eric Brooks once fought alongside Marvel superheroes such as Spider-Man, X-Men, and Dr. Strange.
