The Criminal Mastermind is one of the many challenges in GTA 5 Online that offers some exciting rewards in the form of in-game achievement and GTA cash of roughly around $10,000,000. Nonetheless, the prerequisites to completing the Criminal Mastermind are not easy to pull off:

1. Complete all the Heists with the same team members (2-4 players)
2. Complete all the Heists on Hard difficulty
3. No deaths, neither during the setup missions or the finale

Those prerequisites apply to two different heists in GTA Online, Apartment Heist, and Doomsday Heist. Aside from the Criminal Mastermind, there are other special rewards, such as First Time, All in Order, Elite Challenge, and Loyalty.

Although the requirements don’t consist of a long list, it’s no doubt that completing the Criminal Mastermind in GTA Online is far from easy. Therefore, we would like to share with you some tips and tricks to ease up your progress in completing the Criminal Mastermind Challenge.

1. Assemble a Team That Works Well Together

Although it can be carried out by two-four players, the Criminal Mastermind would be very difficult to pull off in a team of random players. It takes solid teamwork and effective communication.

Take the Doomsday finale, Heist Act 3, for example, where a player has to hack quickly, while the other providing cover and secure the surroundings. If this mission is carried out in a team of randoms, it would certainly be a disastrous one. Therefore, make sure to get a group of players with good teamwork.

2. Get a Basic Understanding of Each Missions

Given that you will carry out some of the hardest heist missions, then it is highly advised that you complete all of the heist missions before trying to complete the Criminal Mastermind. Thus, you will be able to pinpoint the NPCs’ spawn locations, spots for you to take cover, or perhaps you can even come up with the best strategy to complete each heist missions.

3. Switch to Story Mode

Now, if you find yourself cornered, running out of armor and bullets to complete the mission, then your best bet is to switch to story mode. Once you’ve done that, restock your ammo, armor, and snacks, before continuing with the mission.

This way, your progress in the Criminal Mastermind won’t go in vain since not a single player has died.

4. Avoid the Use of Explosives

Relying on explosive guns, such as RPGs, Homing Launcher, and Grenade Launcher is too risky in this one. In most cases, some players in the team rushing to fire their explosives, and more often than not, they fire it onto a wall or other obstructions, resulting in the death of one of the players.

Indeed, explosive weapons are highly effective to kill NPCs such as Juggernauts, but there’s always be a risk by overdoing it. The best way to overcome this is by limiting the use of, and/or deciding which player in the team who can wield explosive weapons.

5. Play It Safe

When it comes to Heist, most GTA Online players tend to rush the mission to get the reward from completing the Elite Challenge. Nevertheless, the reward you’ll get from the Elite Challenge is actually not worth it, because you’ll only end up with a mere $50,000 bonus. And, on the other hand, rushing out a heist will result in a higher chance of your team to drop the Criminal Mastermind altogether by dying in the middle of the mission.

Aside from that, there are a lot of missions that allow you to use the Armored Kuruma. This vehicle is very important during heist missions, especially the Doomsday Heist ones because the Armored Kuruma can withstand thousands of bullets. But after all, this vehicle will be blown up if hit by a missile. Thus, if you see an NPC riding a weaponized helicopter, don’t even think about using this vehicle in that mission.

6. Use MK2 Weapons

Since the release of the Gunrunning DLC, Rockstar provides us with several weapons that can be upgraded to the MK2 variants, which have a much better performance than the regular variants. On top of that, these weapons have access to special ammo types, such as explosive rounds, and incendiary rounds.

Furthermore, on the Avenger mission of the Doomsday Heist ACT 2, using certain upgrades, such as the Thermal Scope for Heavy Sniper MK2 will definitely help. In that mission, you will have a hard time seeing the NPCs with the dimly-lit surroundings. Therefore, using a Thermal Scope will help you to complete the mission.

7. Choose the Designated Pilot

Given that there are several missions that require you to use an airplane or helicopter, make sure to assign the piloting duty to the player(s) who really excel at flying a plane/chopper. There are many cases where the heist mission failed just because the player who’s in charge of flying the aircraft wasn’t particularly good at their job.

You can use GTA 5 cheats to activate superpowers, traverse the map with ease, manipulate the weather to your advantage, reduce the power of gravity, increase your running speed, swim faster, and do lots of other things.
